Couple pitching duels in the early innings on the island.

DSL Blue hitters have just a pair of singles from Justin Lugo and Joan Gutierrez while Luis Velasquez has given up just a walk and single through three innings (1 K).

DSL Gold hitters have no hits to speak of while Christopher Peralta surrendered a solo shot and single through three with three strikeouts.

Wandy Cabrera now on for the Gold fourth and is having himself more of an On The Island inning with two walks, two wild pitches and an HBP so far to load the bases with one out.

DSL Gold still being 'No-No'd as they head into the 5th down 3-0. Yes, I am posting this to plant the seeds for the No-No declaration jinx. It's gotta work both ways, oh baseball karma gods. No sleeping on the job!

There is still a no hitter going. Bottom of 5,  Orioles Orange up 8-0, and still no hit for the DSL Brewers Gold.

So just to sum it up, they haven't had a hit in the game, that's no hits so far for the Orioles Orange pitchers.  😉

And we have a hit. Golf claps

Donato with a single.  Then a few batters later Christopher Acosta with a 2-run triple.  Alright  brewers gold on,y down 8-3.  Brewers Blue need some runs please.

The DSL scoreboard watching is much different than last years clubs

After three walks and zero hits through four innings, DSL Gold made a game of it anyway falling 14-12 with one of those good old fashioned DSL football scores (two point conversion to tie was stuffed at the goal line as the clock expired).

Some box highlights...

Christopher Acosta (triple, two walks)
Kenny Fenelon (single, walk, HBP, stolen base)
Jonathan Rangel (Home Run, sac fly, walk)
Francis Sosa (double, two walks)
Roniel Paulino (double, single, three walks)
Fabian Reyes (one 3U3D inning)

Question about Garrett Mitchell's rehab..... would it include a Mudcats trip towards the end of the week next week? I will be in attendance the 21st in Zebulon for the Brewers themed jersey giveaway and I may go the 20th as well.

No position player rehab stints typically just go straight from the ACL to AAA.

It seems that the team has used Arizona Complex, Wisconsin and Nashville mostly as rehab sites (ie for Woodruff, Quero, Quintana this year; and last year it seems the Complex to Wisconsin to AA was the most common route I believe)

EDIT: Or as @wiguy94said - mainly Complex to AAA for hitters, and Complex to Wisconsin to AA for pitching maybe?

Pitching is just going to be what's most convenient for the pitcher in terms of travel/weather. Wade Miley is the only player I can recall having a rehab assignment in AA in the recent years. The reason you see so many pitching rehab assignments in A+ is because it's a short drive from Milwaukee so the pitchers can drive up the day of/night before then drive back down after they pitch.

AA Biloxi’s doubleheader in Chattanooga starts off with 1B Mike Boeve playing in the field for the first time in 2025 and RHP Coleman Crow looking to ride his recent success (6 IP, 0 R, 9 Ks last outing). They trail 2 games to 1 in the series.

@Joseph Zarr don't look what happened in the ACL game

At least our youngest stateside pitcher (LHP Enderson Mercado) had a nice breakout game - 5 scoreless innings, 1 H, 2 BB, 5 Ks.

RHP Josh Maciejewski (4.31 ERA in 31.1 AA/AAA IP) gets tonight’s spot start for AAA Nashville, as they aim to narrow their 3-1 series deficit at Norfolk. C Jeferson Quero has 9 hits and 4 RBIs over his last 4 games.

The Timber Rattlers can clinch a series win at Great Lakes tonight, as 23-year old RHP Sam Garcia makes his 2nd High-A start (5.1 IP, 2 R, 4 Ks last week). CF Eduardo Garcia’s on-base streak is 24 games.

Low-A Carolina have dropped 4 straight games at Lynchburg and RHP Chandler Welch also wants a turnaround from his last outing (3.1 IP, 7 BB). Three of their top June bats (Bitonti, Walther, Lameda) are all absent from the lineup.
