Nestor if healthy is better than our all star Peralta imo.   By no means should the success of our current and AAA starters fathom trading Cortes in what would be a massive low.   He has pitched only a handful of innings this year and could easily be a dominant ace come playoff time partially because of that.

Either hoard the starters or trade Quintana for a better return than Civale if we need to remove one from the picture.

Can’t imagine the get for give would be much anyways.  The IL likely has scared some teams off too.  And If we keep him, the big question might be if he is even on the playoff roster.

Depending on what they were to get back, I’d be fine with them dealing him.  Never really like the acquisition to begin with.

I would definitely give him 3 starts after the all star break to “showcase” him, though.

I think we should still consider giving him the QO if he comes back strong.   I’d need an organizations top three pitching prospect or else I’d keep him.  Ideally move the asset attained in a Suarez deal then.(

If he comes back strong and pitches well down the stretch and intro the playoffs, we have a veteran whose arm is relatively fresh having barely pitched so far this year.

With a lot of our young pitching never pitching too many innings in a year so far, could be valuable hanging onto him when those guys innings will be getting up there end of September.

He could be this years Gio Gonzales.

*CWH double checks Brewers got Cortes and Durbin for Williams in the original trade*

Somehow Cortes giving up 8 runs in 8 IP and then getting hurt actually increased his trade value?

Are you Cortes' father?
