    Some of those SD games were close to being winnable as well. Just a clutch hit or two short. Baseball gonna baseball. Not bad for still the offense not playing the greatest.

    Agreed he's my MVP too I think. He's the one steady guy who hasn't really slumped yet all season. Just very consistent. And yeah appears to be vocal in team leadership which flies under the radar.

    Nice series win after a rough series in SD. It happens even to really good teams. I think we have the season tiebreaker now again LA too? So that was a huge win in that regard in case we tie with them record wise for homefield...not that it mattered much last year...or in 2018...or in 2021... :)

    It's like other teams have watched film on what we do an analyzed it, and we have yet to adapt to their changes yet and have struggled. I'm staying positive they will figure it out down the stretch. Would rather have them struggle now and get hot for the playoffs...instead of like in years past where we peak now and struggle down the stretch. Maybe the best is yet to come? Is this the optimism thread? :)

    Going to bring this thread back up to the top where it needs to be. I know with the 3 game losing streak to start the west coast trip, and the Cubs close behind people are losing their minds on the board. Remember last year when we swept the Dodgers during the regular season, then they mowed us down in the playoffs healthy? Maybe that will be us this year. We're going through a rough patch right now, guys banged up, and we'll get hot at the right time before and during the playoffs and finally win when we have to. I'd rather have the team struggle now than say end of September and October. Who's with me! Go Brewers! :)

    Here's to hoping Yelich, Contreras, and Chourio all find it similar down the stretch and into the playoffs. Good to see Jackson getting there lately. Now we need the other guys.

    This. Remember all the preseason rankings and standings? We were last in our division in many of them. No respect. And now they call us losers? Who cares.

    I'm going to trust our pitching team can get the most out of this guy, along with May and the Rockies guy. They've been right more than they have been wrong for a long time now. But yes a lot of our past deadline bullpen deals are living rent free in my mind...

    I know it hasn't translated to the playoffs, but the Brewers during this hot stretch since 2017-18 or so seem to usually play quite well against good teams, and good pitchers during the regular season. You just have to roll the dice and hope our guys get hot at the right time and play like that in the playoffs one of these years and we win it all. It's possible. Man looking at stats for Yeli, Wild Bill, and Jackson all 3 of those guys need to step it up. I'd rather they struggle now, and get hot in the playoffs than the other way around. Their time will come, still a long ways to go this season.

    I like him resting a bit and figuring it out in AAA, and he rejoins the team in Sept for the playoffs and comes out of the pen as a 2-3 inning guy. Just needs to throw strikes a little more and harness the awesome stuff.

    Joey has looked better of late too. All of our younger guys have gone through those stretches where the book is out on them and teams adjust how they pitch you, and you have to now counter adjust. You just knew those Cubs pitchers weren't going to throw him a strike, just high fastballs and see if he'd lay off. He didn't.

    Pretty crazy. It's baseball. 162 game season. Stretches where you play 15-19 games in a row with no days off. Even the best teams go through bad stretches. Look at the Dodgers when we swept them last year during the regular season. That team mowed us down in the playoffs when it counts, it didn't matter they played like crap during the regular season for a stretch. Every team does at some point. The good teams just do it less and we're one of those teams yep.

    Great first half, really for Brewers baseball can't ask for much better. It was the best first half we've ever seen, and I think we all still feel like this team hasn't played up to it's true potential which is exciting. Too many here are quick to criticize My main concerns are can the young arms last and be strong down the stretch and into the playoffs? Many haven't pitched this many innings before ever, will they pitch like Miz in last year's playoffs and look great? Or will they look like Shawn Marcum / Jeffress in 2011 Playoffs and show signs of wear?

    Henry Blanco was 12 I think. Should be retired. :)

    How much of us does this really affect? We aren't the ones sitting in the front rows anyways at games so this doesn't bother me too much. Maybe once or twice every year or two I'll splurge for really close seats if there's a deal online that's it. Maybe the Brewers have some marketing dept data that they are lacking some higher end stuff and missing out on things other teams have.

    He's like Mark Mulder or Cory Lidle on the A's right now when Zito and Hudson got most of the press. But man they both have been amazing.

    Yep it would be nice to have a large group of starters healthy for that 18 game stretch next month before the all star break. There's another long one in there at the end of the season too I think. Pretty brutal schedule. Really could use Woody and Priester for those.

    Sal is so short most pitches are high in the zone on him. Great W, man Bauers again. Like to see the insurance runs late too.

    Was at the game last night that Hamilton catch was pretty amazing. Looked like there was NO chance anyone would get that ball and he got there without diving. Truly great speed.

    We have 2-3 grueling stretches of baseball later in the season this year, for the first time in a few seasons I believe. This year most of our off days were front loaded. I have a feeling those 2 x 18 games in a row stretches coming up later in the season might make our younger players tire out a bit, or some September they might fade with increased workload compared to in years past. But the Brewers have been smart with dealing with these issues in the past or calling up other players to help and they do a good job so I have faith and trust the front office.

    Knowing the history of both these teams, something is coming. Either today or a later series something is coming.

    Here's to hoping Jomboy does a deep dive. He usually finds this kinda stuff. If more happens today I bet he will do one.
