Hermandez, not his sharpest, still completes five frames and has a chance to complete six at 78 pitches. 2-1 Muddies trail. Who knocked in the run? Di Turi. His 46th RBI of 2025.

Payne legs out a grounder, and I think he would have beat it out but the throw got away and a single for Payne. Runners at the corner. Let’s go Mudcats!

Muddies threatening in the bottom of the fifth. Payne just legged out a single to the 1B side. 1B stabbed the hard hit grounder. Payne's hustle forced an off-balance throw and it would have been bang-bang but instead the throw went over the pitcher's glove. Rodriguez at 3B (lead-off BB). AND Payne is immediately picked off. Unreal. Two down now for Made. At least Payne extended his hit streak to eight games? Man that's a tough look Made grounds out to 2B. I swear I haven't seen a hard hit ball to a gap from Made in at least two weeks.

DiTuri has to be the best 30+ ranked prospect maybe ever.

I was surprised that he is still only 19 years old. Seems like he’s been around a while longer

Nope. He just promoted and was fast-tracked super young. I knew about him pretty early because Del Chiaro was hyping him up when he was promoted stateside originally.

Man, we are in a red flag fire warning the past two days. Wind gusts hitting 25 mph today. Very low relative humidity. Mid to upper 80's after mid 90's yesterday. We have two 2,000 plus acre burns happening the county to the West of us and a fire just popped up at Diamond Lake about 45 minutes South of us. Fire Season is here very early this summer and it just aint fun - this is the first day where that wildfire smoke is really pouring in over our ridges. I'm going to be on edge from this point on until about mid September. The realities of an Inland PNW fire ecology.

He was part of the 2023 IFA pool along with other high bonus players like Yophery (and Kevin Ereu). So being a big bonus IFA signing, having a great ACL campaign in 2024 and being part of the early season relentless Mudcats offense will make it seem like he’s been around a while.

Hope all stays safe for you. Sorry to hear that.

Literally an annual reality. It sucks. 😅 We all have risk assessments no matter where we live - you have flooding possibilities with the Big Muddy and severe storms. We have the wildfire threats. They are gnarly.

Looks like as the sixth frame was coming to a close the groundscrew were bringing out tarps as a downpour had just started. May be heading to a delay.

Ok now. 2nd and 3rd with one down after Jose Anderson ripped an inside out fastball down the 3B line for a double. We are in the bottom of the sixth. Who's up? Our man of the hour Di Turi.

3-2 count. Di Turi has fouled two back. Another quality AB. He's seen a lot of pitches tonight. 8th pitch of this AB coming up. He lays off an outside breaking ball and he takes the free pass. SUCH a good player, man. Bases juiced.

All I can do as these lesser Mudcats bats fail to meet the big moments in these tight games (Rodriguez and Walther both K swinging to end the bases loaded one out threat - game tied 2-2 however) is think:

2B/DH Josh Adamczewski is about to come on Home.

Words can not express how massive his bat will be to help this line up. You lose Dinges to promotion. Now you get Josh back? That's massive

Rivera strands runners on 1st and 2nd with a swinging K on an outside heater in a 2-2 count. It's a 2-2 game to the bottom of the seventh where the line up will graciously flip to the top of the Mudcats order.

Oh man. Hodges just gave up a lead-off single. He then gave up an 0-1 110 mph 418 foot no doubter over the RF wall on a belt high inside hanger. That ball was crushed. 4-2 Muddies trail top of 9. Sighs.

Sounds/Bulls game is called with one down and a man on 2B in the bottom of the 5th. Durham will get the weather induced 'W' with a 6-5 tally on the scoreboard.

If an 0-4 night is where we are destined to feed the baseball gods for the spectacular 3-0 Brewers sweep over the Dodgers...it is the price we must pay. I'm going to take it in stride.

Holguin K'd swinging. Rodriguez reached 1st by HBP. Walther popped out weakly to RF. Payne first pitch single. Men on 1st and 2nd. Made is up. He's 0-for-6 in the series. BA is down to 0.269. I haven't seen him hit a meaningful ball in quite awhile. Is he due?!? Please be due, Jesús. He's swung and missed massively at two change-ups. He's in a 1-2 count. He swings and misses way ahead of that pitch. Made continues to look lost at the plate. Just no competitiveness in that AB. Really poor form for such a highly touted prospect. He is absolutely in a funk.

Come to Northern Ireland Joseph!

Our weather is pretty bleh, we get three weeks of sunshine a year, but no fires, no hurricanes and we LOVE some farmers down here

We can create an irish Brewers fanbase for the ages
