Low-A Carolina gets its 3rd and final chance to clinch a home series win over Kannapolis, with 19-year old RHP Jayden Dubanewicz having his 2nd outing of the week (4 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 4 Ks on Tuesday). SS Jesus Made (.798 OPS, 40 SBs), 2B Luis Pena (.869 OPS, 40 SBs) and CF Jose Anderson (.690 OPS in Low-A/ACL) return to the lineup as Eric Bitonti rests.

Aw man. Jayden Dubanewicz exits after just 1 inning and 14 pitches, with the game log indicating an injury delay to commence the 2nd inning.

The High-A Timber Rattlers can grab a 3-3 series split with a win at Quad Cities today. LHP Sam Garcia aims to replicate his terrific Tuesday start (5 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 6 Ks). SS Jadher Areinamo leads the Midwest League in hits (109) and total bases (170).

This has been a few really really rough weeks, heck, no just a tough summer with injuries, feel like we can't catch a break. Yikes

You are sadly correct... I've also noticed that weekday attendance is decreased. Here is a few photos from Tuesday.

@MudcatsfaninBrunsCO - I can't open the attachments.

FYI - I went back to try to watch, but no video of Dubanewicz warm up and no mention by Edwards of what - it just sounds like he just started to warm up and called the trainer and after a discussion walked off frustrated. Hoping it was a minor tweak or something. Just so frustrating.

And Sam Garcia's frustrating high A season continues.

And man does the big league club just need to play winning teams only, they sure seem to play down to some of the lesser weights - they went only 4-2 against the Rockies and sure that's a winning records but that team is barely above .250 on the season, and now on the verge of 2-4 (hopefully only 3-3) against the Marlins.

Dorchies in now. Gives up a lead off walk, then gives up a SB. But a grounder, a K and then fly out. He keeps the shutout intact.  Edwards referring to him as "Dubanewicz" several times this inning - and understandably as he is a tall young RHP, last name begins with a D, and Dubanewicz on all of our minds....

Sam Garcia gives up 5 in the bottom of of the 5th. The T-Rats are becoming harder to watch. Maybe I go back to calling them the T-Rays lol.

And speaking of which - since his former teammate and potential competition for future 1B of the organization was drafted, Blake Burke has dug himself into a major slump. 4-31, with 14 K! Yikes

EDIT: just realized Burke and Fischer were NOT teammates, as Fischer played at Ole Miss in 2024.

Adamczewski is human after all.  After the BB in the 1st, he goes fly out, K and pop out. I mean he can't OPS over 1.000 for the whole year 😉

Man things got interesting in Zebulon in the bottom of the 8th. With two on and two out, a long deep fly ball that is just foul, and Dorchies got lucky there. Next pitch a routine grounder to DiTuri as the batter stumbles out of the box, but the hop DiTuri expected never happened and under his glove, and it's an infield single to load the bases, but DiTuri makes up for it with a nice catch on a pop up into foul ground in the bullpen area on the very next pitch. Those last three pitches were eventful.

Grounder to Made, grounder to DiTuri and grounder to DiTuri with a nice play and strong throw.

Mudcats win 4-0. Nice 4 IP of relief by Dorchies.

AA Biloxi have already won this week’s home series against Rocket City and seek a 5th win of the week. 23-year old RHP Alexander Cornielle is making his 2nd start of the week (4 IP, 0 R, 7 Ks on Tuesday). C Darrien Miller is having a good month at the plate (.765 OPS in 61 July PAs).

AAA Nashville calls upon Swiss Army knife RHP Garrett Stallings (2.77 ERA, 0.84 WHIP, 6.8 K/9 in 48.2 IP; pitched 1.2 IP on Wednesday) to guide the team to a series-clinching win at home against Charlotte. DH Tyler Black has an .817 OPS over his last 63 AAA/MLB PAs.

Cornielle was pretty strong, but his pitch count is still his biggest enemy. 2 H (both in the first inning) and 2 BB (plus1 HBP) in 4 innings. 4K. Only the 1 run allowed. Manfredi pitches a 1-2-3 5th inning.

Darrien Miller on a mini-heater and hits a HR to tie it up at 1-1.

Manfredi. 6 up and 6 down, and only 12 pitches. Wow efficient.

Heading to bottom of 6. I'm off and will catch the box score later.

@biedergb: Cover your eyes. A one out fielding error by Pratt in the ninth was followed by a two-run jack off LHP Brian Fitzpatrick. Shuckers lose 3-2 after they took the 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 8th. Hurt me! Pratt even had a redemption opportunity  with two on and two down in the bottom half. He flew out to RF.

Ugh. I saw the final score and just thought to myself. Yeager, Childers in AAA, Bryant injured 😢

Fitzpatrick in for the 3rd day in a row (or 3 of 4). Yikes though.

I see Nashville in extras. Yeager let the runner score, Sounds need to tie it or better yet get 2 runs and walk it off.

EDIT : And I see it was Zamora’s error that scores the runner. Boy what’s with these SS 🙄 ??

Fitzpatrick pitched 2 times in the series. He threw 1 inning on Thursday then pitched today.

Really?  Ok then I’m imaging things  - I could have sworn I saw him a Friday or yesterday-  but didn’t go back to review. Thanks for that clarification.

Watching it and thinking to myself. You know Dalbec could just hit a HR and end this thing….

And Dalbec rips it deep to left and just fair. 2-runs walk off HR

”Bobby Dalbec says good night”

See you all tomorrow.

Second two-run shot in nearly identical pull spots on the series. The man has muscle.

Sounds have finally found their Keston Hiura replacement. AAAA player who mashes AAA but can't make enough contact to hit in MLB
