Well, the last time we played down there we swept them, so I guess the Rangers are just returning the favor.

That's a memory of the '23 season I'll always remember. Got swept---at home---by a terrible A's team, and swept the eventual WS champs on the road. However we fare in the PS, these last three games won't have anything to do with it one way or another, frustrating as they were.

Because I watched the game from behind today with some fast forwarding, I didn’t realize that Contreras was in the original lineup but was scratched because of a bruised arm.

Hopefully it’s just something that caused Murphy to decide that it was a  good time to give him two full days off.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I would agree that Philly does feel like a better team. The batting order in particular just not in the same strata. I still think we end up hanging on to #1. And I think it's a lot more important than people think.

They'll have a bye. Not having a bye would mean LAD passed them, and they still play Philly. Just not going to happen.

Chicago passing them would be the more likely path to not having a bye, but I agree that neither is going to happen. Chicago is just not good enough to go on a big run, and LAD dug too deep of a hole.

Maybe we just bring up the shuckers lineup for the rest of the season

Obviously won’t see him for a long time yet, but I’m curious to know whether Brewer fans right now would feel better with Jesus Made or Joey Ortiz at the plate.

I’m not saying they’re going to do it, but I wouldn’t assume that a team that is 20 games over.500 isn’t good enough to go something like 12-4 in their final 16 games.

If the Brewers continue to scuffle and finish with 95 wins or less they are really tempting fate.

Disappointing series but have a real good chance to turn it around right  away at home against of a couple of teams under 500.

I would say they need to come out of this homestand at least 4-2 if hanging onto the #1 is a big priority.

Magic number for the Cubs remains at 11.

Magic number for the Phillies remains at 14.

The magic number for the Phillies is 13 because the Brewers hold the tiebreaker over them. So, the total of Brewers wins and Phillies losses only has to get to 162 instead of the usual 163.
