In Wednesday's game, Polanco, playing third base, caught a foul pop for the 2nd out of the 5th inning, remaining in the game to complete the inning on defense. He was replaced in the field to start the 6th. May or may not be related to that catch. His 34 plate appearances in 2026 have been stellar in the small sample, as his linked page shows.

Somebody had mentioned the signing of RHP Deivy Gonzalez (17-year old from Panama - 6'3", 160 lbs) some months back, but it's now official

And there are two additional signings:

• LHP Noel Cepeda - 18 years old from the Dominican Republic - 6'1", 170 lbs
• RHP Yancarlos Yasquez - 18 years old from the Dominican Republic - 5'10", 165 lbs

All 3 players are obviously bound for Dominican Summer League rosters, which begins play on Monday, June 1

The amount of bodies we throw at these lower levels….

Even with the biggest signing classes, they still keep adding to them with late blooming pitchers.
