And once again, being overly aggressive on fourth down in your own territory burns the Panthers.

It's gotten out of control and the pendulum badly needs to swing back the other way.

lol

Guys, they are double digit underdogs.

Yeah, I like the new more aggressive NFL, but there's a fine line between being aggressive and being reckless.

And three and a half minutes into the game, the Rams are three points away from a double digit lead.

It was also two minutes into the game.

I honestly don't know why people want more punting but to each his own.

That's a strawman argument. What was the reward for going for it two minutes into the game in your own territory? You're still on your own side of the field 55 yards away from the end zone and according to you, double digit underdogs need to be more aggressive and can't settle for field goals. If they're on the Rams 40 or closer, I could understand. from your own 45 is just reckless when there's 58 minutes left in the game.

Exactly. It's gotten dumb. You convert and yay, you have the ball at your own 46. Just kick it. Play the field position game. Getting a first down on the opening drive was probably a net positive. If they're deciding between a 57 yard FG and going for it that's one thing. This was just dumb, regardless of the point spread.

Carolina converted 3 4th downs to beat LA earlier this year. Caneles knows they are undermanned and outgunned. They have to be aggressive

I'm not going to look it up, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that they were in Rams territory all three times.

Agree to disagree. I'll just leave it at that.

The way the Panthers are playing now, I don't think it really matters anyway.

And the second after I post this, it looks like the two teams switched uniforms during the commercial break.

Joe Barry defense burns Carolina. After years (maybe decades) of evidence that soft zone defense prevents you from winning the game, NFL teams still continue to use it. Any DC still playing prevent defense in 2026 should be arrested.

If anybody wants to know why old guys like me stop watching games, and really only have interest in the sport in terms of personnel moves...well, here is a good example for you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKjxL7-aJNw

You'll have to click the link because the NFL blocks the video from being embedded here.

#30 for Jacksonville.  This is a pretty good example of why the NFL's crappy product is not worth watching.  #30 for Jacksonville, that guy sucks.  And if someone is going to get on here and say that he's a premier defensive back in the league...well...that is just all the more reason why not to watch.  Season on the line, and #30 is just going to dance around and do a few pirouettes and basically not try to stop the ball carrier at all.  What a joke!

That's even worse than what Nixon did last night.

Niners go into the defending champ's house and win. How did they possibly do that with all the injuries they sustained this season???
