Wisconsin Press Release:

Torres Named Brewers Minor League Pitcher of the Month for July - Rattler left-hander had amazing month

GRAND CHUTE, WI – The Milwaukee Brewers have announced Wande Torres as their Minor League Pitcher of the Month for July.  This is the third consecutive month a Rattler has won Milwaukee’s Minor League Pitcher of the Month.

Torres, who was signed as an International Free Agent out of the Dominican Republic in 2022, was 1-0 with a 3.65 ERA in five starts for the Timber Rattlers in July.  He walked twelve and struck out 32 in 24-2/3 innings.

Torres was the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week after his start against Beloit on July 9 when he allowed one hit, walked one, and struck out eight over seven scoreless innings.  He also had a ten-strikeout game at Peoria on July 3.

The left-hander led the Midwest League in strikeouts and innings pitched in July.  Torres is also among the league leaders for the season in both categories through Wednesday’s games.  He is tied with Samuel Dutton of Lansing for the most innings pitched this season (96-1/3).  Torres is fourth in the Midwest League in strikeouts with 101.

Andrew Fischer and Braylon Owens were named the Brewers Player and Pitcher of the Month for May when they were Timber Rattlers.  Both have since been promoted to the Biloxi Shuckers, Milwaukee’s Double-A affiliate in the Southern League.

Josh Knoth and Josiah Ragsdale swept those awards for June.  Knoth is scheduled as the starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers tomorrow night in Beloit against the Sky Carp.  Ragsdale was promoted to Biloxi in at the end of June and was recently traded to the St. Louis Cardinals for Dustin May and JoJo Romero.

With Ebel moving up to Wisconsin, does that mean soon we might see Dickerson or Pena to AA? Thoughts?

Dickinson would make more sense, given his hot bat and being a college pick last year.

Pena - being much younger, and also missing a lot of time this year I would suspect may play the year out at Wisconsin, but I am just guessing here.  I wonder if he is a possible AFL candidate, or do they just shut him down and focus on health for next year?

Wow that’s actually a pretty solid list. Wiener was great in a short stint in the majors. Bullock - did he have make it to the pros? Peters was been a solid player, one who got away.  Wagoner and Adams in AAA.  Now Dickinson.
