There was a lot of buzz around Fischer leading up to the start of the season (and rightfully so) but Pena has been the best Rattler so far.  Kid is a stud.

Kind of feel bad for Peña. In almost 20 other systems he'd be considered the blue-chip prize of the system. Made has been so good and is so generationally talented he kind of gets lost in the shadow. After a slow start last year in High A, Peña really has adjusted well to start the season. He is about to get a whole lot of helium if it continues. Still so young for the level.

Yeah he was hot but cooled off pretty quickly. And pitching depth is great throughout the organization, but really lacking quality at the moment, aside from DeBerry and the should be MLB arms (Henderson and Gasser).  Letson, Hardin not quite replicating that amazing start they had last year in HighA.  And Meccage stat line looks fine. Am I missing anyone, as I’ve been really disappointing compared to my expectations for pitching particularly since many are repeating levels they were in at some point last year.

I have a hard time worrying about anybody in a couple start sample. In MLB and MiLB I think it’s valuable to try to judge early season performances as if they happened in June or July. If a rough two start sample happened mid-season it would just be a case of hoping they’ll be better next time out. That’s how I’ll be viewing these slow starts until the sample gets more meaningful.

I know, that why I tried to put in the disclaimers of "right now" and "compared to my expectations".

Way too early to judge - I know that Letson is not a has been, just like I know Lara will not be the MVP of the International League (although I would love that).
