Pratt’s first home run coming next inning don’t worry

If he can make put the ball in play against Cade Smith I'll be impressed

Edit: Nevermind I got my innings mixed up

Did Vaughn swing at ball four?

Twice. Just too many missed opportunities today. Getting 3 walks and an HBP in a single inning is an absolute gift. Somehow coming away with nothing to show for any of it is inexplicable.

I don’t  think so, but it was way too close to take.

Though the result wasn’t good that was a good AB. He didn’t chase and put a good swing on the 3-2 pitch but just didn’t pull it enough to get into the hole for a game tying single.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

He put a good swing on it but that swing on pitch 4 was the one that hurt the most. That 3-2 pitch was too close with no challenges to take I think. Just way too far inside to reasonably get that ball in fair territory

That was 100% a ball.

Still too close to take.

I think there’s some nitpicking going on here if we think hitters are going to only swing at balls in the strike zone.

It was definitely a ball, but not far enough out where we can be certain that it would have been called that way, Thank Sanchez for two bad challenges.

Absolutely, with no challenges he can't be stuck holding his bat with the bases called out on strikes.

I just have a huge problem with a backup catcher flippantly using challenges like we have an unlimited supply, especially when he's hitting. He's not good at it and he doesn't care. To be fair to him though, it doesn't seem anyone else is interested in using them even in obvious situations.

Not using your bench in a winnable game is frustrating

Oh boy. Ortiz up in the clutch. I think I'll go get a beer, or a whisky....

No need, they pulled him back for Contreras.
