He’s misplayed several wall balls resulting in cheap HRs.

Good news: We already have an aging, injury prone, inconsistent, overpaid DH in Yelich, so even though Chourio would fit well in that role … it is not available until 2029 at the earliest.

And so have Mitchell and Frelick this year….Never in the history of baseball has a HR robbery considered anywhere near a routine catch.

He’s statistically a good OFer. This is bizarre that you’re suddenly going after arguably our best non-Miz player with straight up falsehoods and likening him to an overpaid, mid 30s Yelich.

It’s facts which contradict your opinion.

if you have facts which show he should be a DH, I’d be curious to see them.

I’m just having fun … sadly, you’ve made yourself the captain of the forum police force.

I love Chourio - especially as a hitter. Even with all the stats you’ve shared, he’s not gifted in the OF like Perkins, LoCain, Broxton … or even PCA … who make/made those plays routinely.

I agree that Mitchell & Frelick have also had miscues. I believe they “look” more natural playing OF defense than Chourio.

I don't know if there was any angst about Ortiz not being lifted for a PH in the 7th, but the way I saw it Cleveland still had to get nine outs. That's another time through the order. You had a possible PR situation for Sanchez, you're hitting for Perkins assuming a RHP is on the hill, and then Ortiz' spot again. My biggest complaint is Ortiz just needs to be smarter than to roll over on a ground ball on the first pitch. The three walks & HBP that inning underline it even more. And that's AFTER hitting a rocket to RF in his initial AB. Just a poor AB in a big spot.

Starting around the 3rd-4th inning, this looked for all the world like a game where it was going to come down to a 5 or 6-out bridge from Drohan to Uribe-Megill, and could we get from point A to point B. We couldn't. They really seem to like Kuhnel, enough that he seems to have kinda replaced Andersons' role. They've earned the benefit of the doubt re pitchers so we'll see. And it's not like Anderson was any better today.

Neither was Rom, but to me that's sort of an 'it is what it is' situation. Looking at the LH relievers that are out, and another couple that are starting because you need them to, Rom is like your 7th choice for a LH BP role.

Yoho did a nice Doug Jones impersonation. I think the best thing he can do is convince himself that he doesn't need to change anything just because this isn't Nashville.

Rough day behind the dish for Sanchez.

It's definitely not "policing" to provide facts to contradict a false claim. I'm sure you were just joking that's why you felt the need to repeat the same thing over and over throughout this thread.

That he's not PCA in the OF is true, but equivalent to acknowledging someone isn't God.

Let me help you since you apparently need a win … “you are right!”

My comment - while in fun - was repeated intentionally many times because of the various comments in reply.

And defend all you want - the Fry home run ball today was extremely catchable by MANY major league outfielders.

Today was a disappointing loss given that, unless they run into a team in September that is seriously tanking, this was the weakest lineup the Brewers will face all season. But, it’s hard to win games with only who runs so, from that standpoint, they were lucky to win the series.

And from the standpoint of allowing 6 walks & a hit batsman in the last three innings, Cleveland was lucky they weren't swept.

We should have won this game, but our offense was a zero in important spots today.

it is what it is.  We usually make opponents pay for their mistakes (errors and walks), but it is extremely frustrating to have runners and scoring position and no outs multiple times and fail to score.

It's unfortunate that Turang tried to bunt the worst splitter he threw today.

Also, Pratt showing bunt and pulling it back on a first-pitch fastball right down the middle today was another killer.

Yeah both those AB they showed bunt on the most hittable pitch they saw the whole AB. I really don't have an issue with trying to bunt for a hit but if you're doing it you need to be fully committed to it. No half measures.

A real clunker for the offense. Yelich whiffing with  the bases loaded pretty much sealed the game for Cleveland. Turang sure didn't help either. He is in a bad slump with the stick. 4 for his last 20 ABs with 11 whiffs. He needs to sit or be moved down in the order. I know Murphy hasn't any options other than playing both Ortiz and Hamilton at the same time, but right now Turang needs to sit for a while.

Brilliant 🏆

It’s a good reminder though, that even the best of the best defenders have their “ugh, what was THAT?” moments.

PCA is pretty much the gold standard for outfield defense and he’s had several moments just against the Brewers this year that were pure comedy.
