Brandon Lockridge underwent arthroscopic knee surgery after suffering a setback.

Lockridge suffered the knee injury near the start of May, and while the original belief was that it was just a bone bruise, imaging on the knee revealed a chondral flap that required the operation. The hope is that Lockridge will be back at the end of July, but obviously there are no guarantees that he’ll be an option for the Brewers until near the end of the 2026 campaign.

That's unfortunate for Brandon.  He was looking very to start the year.

Does this make it more likely we see Lara now

I don't think they want to bring Lara up unless he is starting every day.  He wouldn't be a replacement for Lockridge or Perkins as long as Chourio/Mitchell/Frelick/Bauers are still penciled in every day.

I'd hope to see Lara once he breaks out of the slump he's in.  He's had a rough June.

Leonard could be another option, but if it's going to be a bench role they probably want that roster spot to be a strong defender who can play CF.  Baddoo is hot in AAA, but only seems an option if Frelick or Mitchell would hit the IL.

Baddoo has certainly been hot, but what sucks about this is you have Frelick, Mitchell & Yelich who's at least listed as an OF all LHH. The last thing you need is another LHH OF. If there's an OF stashed on someone's bench or AAA roster who swings from the right side I'd maybe look to swing a minor deal for him.

Lara had a week or so off when he signed the extension, and has cooled off since. Maybe he'd be an option but not any time soon. Also Perkins has looked better from the RH side recently, so as per usual I don't think this is going to cause an immediate panic. Sucks tho, I was looking forward to Lockridge making it back.
