Gave up Jefferson Rojas, a pretty steep price. The Cubs have now dealt their 2 highest ranked prospects (Ballesteros and Rojas) coming into the year today. Is it enough to overtake the Brewers? If not, they've depleted their system pretty significantly today for what?

The big market teams are less concerned about their farm system because they can fill holes with free agents.

Uhh, this isn't the Dodgers here. The Cubs don't spend anywhere near their capabilities, much less what LA does to compensate for departed cheap talent. Subtracting two big pieces from their system is no small event. And even if they spend more to plug these future holes they've created today, then great, it's less available to spend on something else
