I wonder if the Burke call up and the Bae selection are writing on the wall for Tyler Black?

I understand the defensive liabilities but if Black can't get the call here for a few days to back up some positions and the Brewers are willing to lose Wilson because of it... he isn't ever going to be given another chance, is he?.. AND now that Burke is in Nash they aren't going to hold at bats for him on DH days for Black.

Tyler Black is out of options next year, so he’ll either have to stick on the active roster or be DFA’d. I imagine that they’ll try to trade him for a can of soup this offseason. Can’t go into next year with him as the strong side of a first base platoon. But there are enough bad teams that I doubt he’d clear waivers, so try to get something out of him.

Definitely, I'm almost talking a move imminently. Give him a chance with another org that can give him some real MLB at bats before the year is over. For some reason I could see him in a Rockies uniform before the month is over.

These game details will appear in and make up the bulk of Tuesday morning's Link Report -

Final: DSL Pirates Black 9, DSL Brewers Blue 3, seven innings as scheduled
Box Score and Game Log

The good on 18-year-old starter RHP Carlos Galindo - zero earned runs in five innings of work.

The bad on 18-year-old starter RHP Carlos Galindo - five unearned runs in those five innings of work. Galindo committed an error in three consecutive innings, each contributing to runs scored. This particular play won't qualify as quality.

The teams combined for seven errors overall in the shortened contest.

RHP Jordy Brache, who only turned 17 years old last week, has made 11 appearances (four starts), but has yet to allow less than two runs in any outing. Hopefully we'll look back and remember his rookie season 3.28 WHIP with a laugh when he makes his big-league debut.

RF Frandy Lafond continued his recent strong play with a double and two stolen bases, giving him 20 on the season (22 attempts).

Second-year outfielder Nicolas Barrios, 18 years old, has been idle since leaving after three innings of play on Tuesday July 28th.

The Blue boys get a rare Tuesday off to lick their wounds.

Final: DSL Brewers Gold 2, DSL CLE Goryl 1, seven innings as scheduled
Box Score and Game Log

Each team managed just four hits, one of the Guardians players doubled to lead off the game and scored on a sacrifice fly later in the inning. RH starter Derlin Garcia did well to strand two baserunners by retiring the next two men with a runner on, and that would be all Garcia and RH reliever Wandy Cabrera would surrender. The pair did issue a combined five free passes (four walks, one HBP), but Cleveland batters were 1-for-10 with RISP. Regular Link Report readers will recognize those two names as having been among the most prominent and successful for either island Crew team in 2026. Garcia's in his 2nd season, Cabrera his third. Player Development, baby.

The Golden boys tied it in the 2nd on a RF Carlos Done RBI single, driving in LF Manny De Los Santos, who had walked with one out and stole second base, one of his two steals on the day (23 swipes in 25 attempts).

Catcher Moises Salazar (we are still contractually obligated to note that he is still 16 years old for three more days), led off the bottom of the 6th with his 4th home run, as the switch-hitter was batting left and yanked it to right field. Salazar again batted in a prime position and seems to be coaxing quite a bit of success from this staff as the primary catcher. Loving this player.

The Brewers survived two caught stealings in their six attempts and two errors by second baseman Santiago Garcia (12 errors in 35 games spread across the infield), so this indeed was a "fortunate" win.

Two youngsters, both of whom have seen limited playing time, are third-year C/1B/DH Kegnnalex Seijas and second-year outfielder Francis Sosa. Each last appeared Monday July 27th.
