After one MLB appearance and one MILB relief outing, LHP Thomas Pannone (4.01 ERA in 74 AAA IP) re-enters the starting rotation for AAA Nashville, who are seeking a 2-1 home series lead over Indianapolis. C Darrien Miller has a 16-game on-base streak.

23-year old RHP Braylon Owens is coming off 2 solid outings (10 IP, 2 R, 12 Ks), so should be the right man to snap AA Biloxi’s 7-game skid. 1B Andrew Fischer has a .967 OPS over his last 79 PAs.

Low-A Wilson shoot for a 3-0 home series lead over Columbia behind RHP Jarrette Bonet (3 IP, 0 R, 3 Ks in relief last week). LF Kyle Jones is 4-for-10 with 2 RBIs and a stolen base to start his career.

High-A Wisconsin trot out a strong lineup behind RHP Josh Knoth (11 IP, 3 R, 15 Ks over last 2 games) as they need to avoid an 0-3 series deficit at Cedar Rapids. SS Luis Pena has hit safely in 9 of his last 10 games.

So not sure what happened, I will try to watch later. But Owens gets the first 2 hitters out, then Injury Delay, and Peyton Nicksch is now pitching for Biloxi.  The Biloxi pitching issues of late have been pretty depressing to watch, and now maybe Owens gone. yikes

Nice - Yannic Walther is catching for Wisconsin tonight.  I found out about him today while trying to figure who Sam Hoff (DSL Gold) is.   Both of these guys are from Germany.   Cool stuff.

Owens made a pitch to the 3rd batter of the inning. And after pitching looked uncomfortable after the pitch, then walked around the mound and then a long mound visit.  He was squeezing his hand, and eventually walked off, not sure it was not an obvious "oh he hurt his arm bad" look

After a difficult start, Jarret Bonet has done well. Gave up 3 runs in the first 2 innings. Walked in a run allowed 2 singles and 2 walks in the 1st. Then walk and double in the 2nd.  So 3 walks, 3 hits allowed before getting an out in the 2nd. But since 1 hit since that double in the 2nd.

And the offense is alive with the Warbirds scoring 9 runs and counting in the bottom of 5 in Wilson

Wilson won big. Antunez, Ebel and Ibarguen with 2 hits each, with Antunez hitting HR #6. Bonet 5 IP and just the 3 runs allowed in those first 2 innings. Broughton with 4 scoreless innings.

thats the good news.

Wisconsin shut out. Knoth 2 ER in 5.2 innings, 93 pitches so good sign he is pitching this deep.

Also, I'm probably a broken record at this point (?) but do not sleep on 19-year-old OF Frandy LaFond. Don't do it. Another good day at the dish. Picked up his 22nd SB (22-of-24). He's in his 3rd DSL campaign, yes, but he's still only 19.  I personally think we are seeing all the right signs of growth (24:22 K:BB) from a player I personally fell in love with when he was first signed to the 2024 class.

Brady Ebel has 38 SB - swiped 3 tonight. He has only been CS 3 times. This young man is really special. I say again: so smooth and, I would add, underrated athletically. Heady ball player and an MLB coach's son blueprint certainly does not hurt.

How is Antunez ranked only 30th on the Brewers top 30? What am I missing?

For a big dollar, hyped up signing his DSL performance (83 wRC+) was underwhelming. His ACL line was better (112 wRC+) though still nothing really eye catching, except for maybe the 31.3 K% under the hood.

Hasn't really gone nuclear until these last couple two tree weeks at Wilson. Not sure when it was last updated but if the MLB list was compiled before then or when his heater was just getting underway, combined with the ridiculous depth of the system (the main factor at play here I reckon) and you end up with a really intriguing teenager as your #30.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the Overall grade (40FV for Antunez) is more important than the ordinal ranking. The dividing line on the MLB list is at #21 Julian Garcia (45FV) and #22 Jose Rodriguez (40FV) so his grade is closer to the Top 20 than his #30 numerical ranking.
