May is okay. Realistically, he is no better than the 4th best starter in our rotation, and maybe lower. 

The thing is, the price tag as a rental was something significantly higher than that. 

I try to be unbiased, both good and bad, about the moves we make or don’t make. If Matt Arnold had gotten Josiah Ragsdale and Alexander Frias for an okay reliever and okay starting pitcher on expiring contracts, 95% of the posters here would say “OMG. I can’t believe we got two high level outfield prospects for a couple of rentals that we won’t even miss. Matt Arnold is the genius to end all geniuses.”

And we all damn well know that is true.

This game is whatever, but Jackson Chourio‘s swing decisions need to get a whole let better. Contreras feels like a semi lost cause as his pitching calling and challenging have been atrocious.

I was so wrong regarding Dustin May. We paid a steep price to acquire him and he’s been meh.

TF are you talking about? What does that have to do with Chourio's swing decisions? I think that was pretty common sentiment after the Padres series which was frankly demoralizing coupled with the injuries accumulated.

Second start was great. First start was okay, some good, some bad, and a lot of luck and defense to get to his final line. This start has been horrific.

You’re right. Unless JoJo becomes some sort of bullpen ace for us, pretty meh return.

His first start was shrouded in good defense, his second start was good, his third start has been a complete disaster. We way overpaid for him.

Sometimes pitchers have off nights. May's been pretty good so far. He and the staff will try to get it figured out. Let's hope this is his only bad one.
