I'm not sure a lot of doctors are eager to wreck their medical reputations and ability to be employed by MLB clubs by lying about diagnoses.

A doctor's primary interest is their patients' health, not some employer wanting to fudge reports for workplace shenanigans.

Murphy didn’t suddenly lose trust in a pitcher who was 5th on the team in innings this season. 

I mean there have been several identifiable situations in the postseason, particularly in middle relief, where Murph normally wouldn't have hesitated to bring in Patrick during the regular season. Instead, he's gone to other guys, including May and Senzatela.

His last month of the season was that alarming from a control perspective.

I'm sure Murphy DID lose trust in him. 

There were a couple outings near the end of the regular season where Patrick could not find the strike zone to save his life. You don't want a guy like that pitching key postseason innings.
