It was probably more of a mistake by Maddux. There wasn't anyone to throw to at third base, and he could have gotten Hardy.

CAPPY!! Good rip. 5-1, and:

RISP: 3-3. Someone alert the media.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve since birth. Hopefully, it's my only crime.

Wait a sec, is this the Bizarro Brewer game we're seeing?
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

We can't let up. The ball is flying out of the park today and the Brewers have a tendency to score a bunch of runs then do nothing the rest of the game. I'll be surprised if 5 runs wins it today.

Brewers 3-3 w/ RISP. 2 2out RBIs

That's the cue for the pitching staff to pitch like crap. You know when the Brewers start hitting, the pitchers have to stop pitching well, right?
