Listening to these two tonight was quite amusing after the Cubs won. They acted like they just won the pennant. They seem to forgot that its...um, August 1.

sure and it was just July 1st when we were up 7 1/2 games as well. Now it's August first and we've lost 7 1/2 games since than. The Cubs are playing better baseball right now and if we keep playing how we are theres no chance in getting ahead of the cubs with a decent lead again.

Its not just the Cubs. In case anyone hasn't noticed, the defending champs are only 6 back.

Living in Chicago I am use to the over reaction of the Chicago media. After the Bulls beat the Heat on opening night last season, I thought I woke up in June and they had won the NBA Championship. So tieing for 1st place mean over reacting like they just won the World Series.

 

Also, keep in mind these fools have been waiting 99 years for that to happen and we all know it will be at least 100 years soon.

I'm a little confused as to why they wouldn't or shouldn't get excited?

 

The Cubs were declared dead in the water by many (including many on this board) in May and June. They've had a very good two months and this was a culmination (hopefully just a culmination).

If the Cubs continue to play like this, and we play like crap the rest of the season, and lose 7.5 games in August and September, I will personally never post here again.

I cant stand either of those guys when I watch a game on WGN. They are pretty bad. And now that they came all the way back to 1st, they are going to be even more brutal to listen to. God I hope the Brewers get this lead back, I cant stand to see the Cubs fans and anyone involved with the organization act all cocky.

Right now they're talking about how nice it is to be in first and not worry about the wild card anymore.
