Sarfate -- Latest: Traded to Houston for cash (merged with FTJ's MLB forum thread)

[Team Canada]

"I'm happy to have a fresh start," Sarfate said. "I've been with the Brewers for seven years and to come over to a class act like these guys are, I'm happy for a new experience."

What, because the Brewers were a shoddy organization that never gave you a chance? Curious.

I don't know how much I'd read into the comments. He's probably just trying to say the right things. He didn't seem upset or anything Saturday night about the demotion. I know he was a little bummed to be leaving some of the guys he's been with for awhile.

His remark about a "class act" like Houston could very well have meant "instead of a non-class act like Kansas City or Tampa Bay".

I'm sure he meant it as a backhanded slap on the way out, but he really does not have to worry about what the Crew thinks, so at least he did not insult HOU.

McClung pretty much did the same thing today as well. It's par for the course.

You may be right but to be fair we have no way of knowing that for sure.

I just don't think you can read too much into it. He's getting a chance to play in the bigs and I think that's what he wanted. He said Saturday night he enjoyed his time in the organization (and there was no media or anything around), so I think we need to cut Sarfate some slack here. He knows he has control problems and he just didn't get it worked out with the organization. It's not like Sarfate complained about the organization while he was with us.

Dennis now has made two appearances for the Astros (a perfect inning each time).

He may get a chance to hurt his old team this week in Houston.
