That's what I see when I attempt to boot up ol' blackie. Does this officially mean it's done? Or can I have it repaired/do something myself to fix it? Any help is much appreciated. No mas MLB07 The Show! Muy mal.

Yeah that happened to my first PS2 a few years back, and it just wasn't worth fixing since a new one was only $150. I think I just went to one of those electronics stores in the mall and turned it in for something like a 10% discount on my new PS2.

If it's the old big style ps2, they are so easy to fix. All you have to do is take about 8 screws out and clean the lens with some rubbing alcohol. You can probably find pics online of how to do it.

i had gone through 3 PS2s. About 3 yrs ago i would play the hell out of the NCAA football and other EA sports games. Well the error came and after two replaced PS2s i asked someone about it and they told me that EA's disks were alittle thicker then most and they would rub the eye wrong over time wear it out and make it unable to read disks. It could be a myth but oh weel.

Yeah, cleaning the PS2 via the video always worked for me when I got disk read errors.

For some reason, I only have this trouble with one game on my PS2 - God of War.

I presume it has to do with how information is stored and read, I'm such a technical klutz, i'm afraid to

clean

it myself.

QL, why do you say that? Have you tried the cleaning method? Mine went on a slow decline, and I just thought it was getting old. I cleaned it as per the video, and it's doing great again. Although if you have tried cleaning, and it still seems bad, I have nothing but good things to say about the 360, especially if you can get or have a plasma or 1080i TV. The graphics are just sick!
