Braun on Facebook?

Okay, so after the game last night, my friends and I decided that we were going to start advertising the "Fire Ned Yost" campaign everywhere. So the first thing we did was create a Facebook group titled "Fire Ned Yost".

Who joins the group and posts in it?! None other than Ryan Braun. And yes, I know what you are thinking "this isn't Ryan Braun LOLz you're dumb." Ryan Braun has had his Facebook since college, before he was known. I follow college baseball beyond belief, and I was looking up players a while back and Braun had his a long time ago, with real pics of himself, and not the ones that only people are posting now.

This is what Braun says.

"Please delete this group. You don't know everything Ned does for us behind the scenes. It's misguided and you just don't know how much he means to us. Please, get rid of this."

Just found this hilarious...especially since that post was posted at 4:13 AM our time.

EDIT: Fixed title, kinda. -b19

How can you prove that this was Ryan?

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Did you at least listen to Braun, fake or real.

No kidding. A quick search of "Fire Ned Yost" brought me 11 other related groups so it's not exactly a unique venture you have started. If you really believe that it is him, wouldn't disbanding the group be the 'right thing to do'?

It's actually all over, Randolph and Francona have also been under fire. I think it's a sign the bandwagon fans have realized the team is good and then start the "unique" web sites.

For those who have Facebook access, here's the group.

That said, why this is 'must read[/i]' or 'hilarious[/i]' is lost on me.

The admin is in high school.

Am I the only one who sent a friend request to Braun?

Because Braun is better than the average human being, and what he says should be followed?

Looking at his friends list quite a few Wisconsin people are on it...and 8 Miami Alumni. If its fake I've got the give the person who made the profile some props. The profile pic looks like Ryan just lounging around his house or something, it wouldn't have been easy to find. Maybe I'll send him a friend request.

No possible way that's him. No professional athlete would a) join a group like that, or b) post something like that. Please.
If you mean Facebook, there are plenty of professional athletes on Facebook.

It's not that big of a deal, but I don't think this is a fake. It's not like Braun's account was created last week. Do you really think that some fraud stalker that was following Braun in college decided to create a fake account of him then, before anyone knew who he was, and carried it on for years, maintaining the fake account by adding fake friends that looked like people he might have been associated with, and regularly updated it with fake pictures that he cleverly doctored?

I think you may have missed my point. The original poster was convinced that it was 'the' Ryan Braun, and Braun personally requested for the group to be taken down. Although it is highly unlikely to be the case, lets suppose for a moment that our star slugger really was up at four in the morning making a post on a social networking site open to the public. My point was that as a Brewers fan my reaction would have been to at least consider disbanding the group, and my first action certainly would not have been to make a post declaring it to be "HILARIOUS!!" as the original thread title stated.

You don't know everything Ned does for us behind the scenes.

Yeah. Like when he threw the rookie Braun under the bus and publicly blamed him for a botched double-steal. What a stand up guy...

Didn't see the original thread title, but I can see where you're coming from. Just saying that no professional athlete request should be weighted any more heavily than just any average Joe in shutting down a Facebook group.

I really, really have trouble believing that Braun would post on a group board like that. He very well could have an account, though. So I guess I have no idea if that is really his account or not.

This thread somewhat reminds of that episode awhile ago where Bruce Willis was posting on a board (aintitcool news was it? maybe rottentomatoes?) and nobody believed it was him, until he got on a video chat with someone to prove it, and the internet went crazy because stars actually use the internet too!

I guess I don't get how he could only have 8 friends from the U. and still be Ryan Braun. Everything else seems legit enough though, I guess.

I would love to hear your evidence for this.

I really think that may be Braun...how can some random person have access to a picture of him sitting on a couch? And yes, of course, I friend requested him.

Somebody should keep poking him, my thinking is he gets so annoyed by it that he magically learns how to pitch and curse the Cubs while hitting 800 foot homeruns leading the Brewers to the playoffs.
