Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

This game is hard. Geez

It's way too hard to get star power. I started a career on hard and after the first 3 sections I only have a handfull of five starts, where as in GH II I could five star most songs.

I love how hard this game. GH2 and Rock the 80s were too easy. Its nice not to be able to beat everysong the first time through it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Awesome game thus far. Really like the new Les Paul for the Wii. I could do without the battles, but it adds a little bit to the game I guess. I definitely agree that this is much harder than the previous installments in the series.

Anyone unlock "Through Fire and the Flames" yet. Cliffs of Dover and One are hard enough. Sheesh!

You get to play it when the credits are rolling after you beat a mode. My friend played it on easy mode and it was still awesome.

I have a question. For all the time and money people invest in this video game, why not spend it learning how to play real guitar? For the price of the video game alone, you could get a fairly nice beginner guitar. When the guitar hero fad passes, you will have nothing to show for your efforts.

And for those of you who say learning guitar is too hard or your hands are too small, I can tell you this much; "One" is probably one of the easiest songs on the planet to learn how to play. And if you spend as much time practicing real guitar as you do playing the video game, I guarantee you will make significant progress.

End rant.

Mainly because its way easier to get really good at GH than it is to get good at real guitar.

I play real guitar AND Guitar Hero--After playing "Before I Forget" on Hard, I might disagree with you.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

You can say this about anything that people do for fun. "Why do you spend so much time reading books when you could be writing?" or "watching sports when you could be playing?" or whatever.

i got it working yesterday and its pretty fun. I am not that good and am only playing on easy so i have ways to go. I usually only play baseball, racing, and golf games so its been a nice change up for me.

I'm stuck on Metal on Expert. I keep screwing up the 3rd cords like... something not good. Grrrr.....

I always hated the entire "Why don't you learn real guitar" question/diss. It's a game... it's a rhythm game, it's not supposed to teach your guitar, it's for entertainment that everyone can play and get into. It doesn't take to much effort to progress and is just fun. So for all the people in their high and mighty guitar tower, it's a game stop being so threatened by a game.

Tom Morello can't beat his 13 year old nephew on his songs in GH. So yeah, the two have nothing to do with each other except well, teaching you how to strum in time. Phh and the power slide.

Why don' I learn guitar? I can already play a lot of instruments, but rarely get to play with an entire band who all know how to play. And this band is ready to go right after work or 2am.

I just wish I wasn't stupid. I bought GH3 for 360. You can't get through a single song without the 360 crashing. Should have gone for the lesser graphics of my PS2 that works.

EA Sports...It's in the game...until we arbitrarily decide to shut off the server.

What's all this HOPO hammer on/ pull off stuff people are talking about? I think I've gotten ok at the game (for someone who hadn't played it before, at least), but some of the quick transitions between notes are killing me. Is HOPO a way to help with that?

Well, sort of. You have to hit the note before it in order to not have to strum. So there are stretches in several songs where you can only strum once and play for about 10 seconds (my favorite parts) on expert.

Does anyone here know how to play "Raining Blood" on real guitar? If so, is it as ridiculous as it is in the game?

BTW, zzzmanwitz is terrible at the game.

But the 360 also allows you to DL songs. I only have a PS2 (Getting a 360 next month for rock band) and I feel I should have waited for the 360 so I can download songs!

I had taken a few months off from GH2, cruised thru the first 6 sets on Hard, (I think I failed 1 song, once) got to the 7th set and cannot beat 2 of the songs for the life of me.

Before I Forget and 3's and 7's just... well... suck.
