Braylon Payne Headlines Brewers Prospects Going To Arizona Fall League

When it comes to the Arizona Fall League, there is a mix of players who teams want to see perform against other top prospects and others who need extra reps after injuries took away innings or at-bats during the season.
The Milwaukee Brewers are sending seven players to the Arizona Fall League, led by center fielder Braylon Payne, Brewer Fanatic's No. 4 prospect. Payne, the Brewers' first-round draft pick in 2024 who just turned 20 a month ago, is the only member of our Top 20 heading to the AFL. Others who will participate in the showcase are corner infielder Eric Bitonti, catcher Matt Wood, left-hander Jose Meneses and right-handers Ryan Birchard, Miqueas Mercedes and Josh Quezada. They will play for the Scottsdale Scorpions.
Payne has had a breakout season in 2026. He spent the first five-plus months of the season with the High-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, then spent the final month at Double-A Biloxi. Combined, he put up a .277/.358/.552 slash line with 28 homers, 67 RBIs and 25 RBIs in 102 games.
Bitonti, the Brewers' third-round draft choice in 2023, posted a .262/.378/.507 slash line with 25 homers and 93 RBIs with 24 stolen bases in 117 games, 111 with Wisconsin and six with Biloxi.

Brewers Sending Jesus Made, Luis Pena To Futures Game

Baseball's No. 1 prospect is heading to the Futures Game. And he is bringing along a buddy.
Shortstop Jesus Made, Brewer Fanatic's No. 1 prospect and the consensus top prospect in baseball, and shortstop Luis Pena, Brewer Fanatic's No. 2 prospect, will represent the Milwaukee Brewers in the July 12 Futures Game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The Brewers have the top farm system in baseball by most outlets.
Made, who turned 19 in May, is having a terrific season with the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers. The switch-hitter has a .281/.355/.441 slash line with seven homers, 51 RBIs and 23 stolen bases in 67 games. Made has rocketed through the Brewers' system. After spending 2024 in the Dominican Summer League, he came to the U.S. and began 2025 at Low-A Carolina for 83 games, then went up to High-A Wisconsin for 27 and spent five games with Double-A Biloxi to wrap up a tremendous year in full-season ball.
He had a .285/.379/.413 slash line, hitting six homers and driving in 61 while stealing 47 bases in 60 attempts.
Pena spent most of that time as Made's running mate until starting this season back with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. Pena has played shortstop at Wisconsin with Made not being on the same roster and putting together a .318/.431/.432 slash line with one homer and 13 RBIs in 26 games. Pena missed a month after a late-April incident that saw him rushed to a hospital after passing out in the dugout during a game. It was determined to have resulted from Pena becoming overheated. Pena also missed two weeks in June.
Made is one of 19 No. 1 prospects who will be representing their teams at the Futures Game.

Frank Cairone Cleared To Report To Brewers' Facility In Arizona

Milwaukee Brewers prospect Frank Cairone's comeback from a serious vehicle collision in early January took another monumental step.
According to an Instagram post, the 18-year-old left-hander taken in the second round last year by the Brewers has been cleared medically to rejoin the organization. The post said Cairone was reporting to the Brewers' complex in Phoenix this weekend.

Cairone, who has yet to make his professional debut, has been working out at the Baseball Performance Center near his hometown in New Jersey. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound left-hander will continue to get back into baseball shape under the watchful eye of the Brewers' medical staff.
During spring training, Brewers players showed their support for Cairone by wearing T-shirts bearing his initials. Cairone was the 68th player taken in last year's draft and signed with the Crew for a $1.1 million bonus instead of accepting a scholarship to Coastal Carolina.
