Brewers Interested In Lefty Reliever Andrew Chafin

Was #1 on my wish list as FA wound down.

Numbers aren't great but I'd love to get him.

Seems like the typical relief pitcher deadline deal that the Brewers would make.  An average, if not below average guy that we will over pay for, only to see him flounder.  High ERA, walks too many guys, just a boring guy that won't move the needle in a positive direction.

On-field performance may be the only thing that is typical about Chafin. Personality-wise, he's quite the character. He's also been an excellent MLB reliever up until this season. I can't imagine the price would be huge. This team could use a little more personality IMO, and Chafin has a track record of success.

As long as he comes cheaply enough (and he probably will), fine. After losing J Wilson this isn't all that surprising.

If anything it's an indictment of where they think Clayton Andrews is right now, I guess.

Why would Arizona be looking to sell when they are a real playoff contender and no this team should not make another bad trade for a reliever regardless.

Never overly thrilled about relievers that come in and can't throw strikes.

Oh, I agree it's a fair price.  I just like Strzelecki & didn't want to lose him. . . . Not arguing.  Separate thoughts that can happily coexist.
