  1. Major League Baseball Position Paper Priority Seating in Press Boxes Major League Baseball encourages clubs to use the following guidelines in prioritizing press box availability for all exhibition and regular season games during the 2003 season. These guidelines are similar to those used by Major League Baseball for special events. Home and visiting PR Staffs, the Official Scorer, and two side-by-side MLB play-by-play scorers (BIS & BAM) should be allotted adequate space. Space should be allotted in the following priority. Clubs should assign media to appropriate seats, according to individual press box accommodations, using the following priorities: 1. Wire Services 2. Home Traveling Dailies 3. Visiting Traveling Dailies 4. Home Only Newspapers 5. National Baseball Publications 6. MLB Regular Season Credentialed Online Services 7. Periodicals 8. Foreign Writers 9. Other Online Services (see MLB Online Policy below) 10. Others NOTE: It is the policy of Major League Baseball to recognize an online service that meets all the following criteria: 1. Is part of a national news gathering agency 2. Reaches a broad audience 3. Produces original content 4. Has an established record of developing original content 5. Employs full-time journalists Individual clubs should be guided by this policy when credentialing online services. Space availability should be the determining factor in assigning working media space, in conjunction with the priority list above. Press Boxes are the domain of the individual clubs for regular season games. MLB requires admittance to all bearers of BBWAA active membership cards and MLB issued credentials.
  2. They won't give us a press pass. Because they don't want you to know the truth! Either that, or we don't meet MLB guidelines.
  3. So, I figure since there are so many new people here, i'd do another call for added functionality for Brewerfan.net? What would you like to see on the site that we currently don't offer? Keep in mind that we really can't change anything with regards to the chat room and fan foum, as those are hosted by ezBoard and I have no access to the code behind it. Other than that, the sky's the limit. Fire away!
  4. pays to be within broadcast range of 620 am
  5. ....and Moeller goes yard. EDIT: that would so have been a grand slam if the bases were loaded.

  10. Scary quote from today's wrapup from Adam McCalvy: "This is Ben's third outing now, and he hasn't been lights-out in any of those outings," Melvin said. "He's got to step it up or that's where a guy like [Rick] Helling comes in." A guy like Helling comes in..... and what? shows Ben what his career could look like if he doesn't start pitching well?

  12. [ Does anyone else think Obie has a good chance to make a career in long-middle relief? ] I think it's a great idea. His splits have always indicated it, and if he needs to bat, that's just fine.

  15. [ The cory hart photo is priceless too........ ] My boss actually took that picture while he was in AZ last week. He didn't even pick up on the fact that it looked like Corey was scoping Donelly out...

  18. fixed... although Yahoo may cache the incorrect links for a little bit yet.
  19. Each forum holds 20 pages of posts, then they "fall off". We do archive In-Game Threads and Link Reports, but that's about it right now. So it's very possible that your thread has disappeared into the great void.
  20. For those of you out there who use the My Yahoo! service, and aren't familiar with how to add RSS feeds to their pages, The Brewerfan.net home page now offers the "Add to My Yahoo" button for our Daily Brews, Feature Articles, and News items. The button links to a page which will allow you to add that particular item to your My Yahoo! page.
  21. I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome our new Director of Public Relations: Shannon Lester aka ILBrewerFan Shannon has worked as a consultant for the past five years and has some excellent ideas on how to improve the site. He played competitive baseball in college and is currently a season ticket holder. We're very excited to have him on board, and his work will continue to carry Brewerfan.net forward, continuing to make us the #1 destination for the die-hard Brewers fan, and give us more of a local and national media presence. I'd like to mention that out of the inquiries people sent me about the position, there were two other individuals I felt could have had an impact on the site as well, and I regret the fact that I had to turn away two other excellent members of the site. It's not that those two were unqualified for the job, it's just that Shannon really blew the staff away with his application. So now, I officially turn over the keys to PR to Shannon, and welcome him aboard!
  22. Wow, that works like a charm! Thanks for the awesome tip. Now, I just have to train myself not to run to google to do it manually.
  23. Maybe when "Director of Cage Fighting" or "Director of Chatting Online with Babes All Day" comes up, we'll see your resume.
