basically in-game threads are just regular posts. Then one of the moderators "pins" them so they stay at the top of the list.

That's it. I'm taking down the site. I can't live without Manny Melo.

Pogo, Just so you know, the news headline thing is in progress, and a poll on the site sounds like a good idea. That shouldn't be hard to implement. Patrick's working on an upgrade on the site design, I think, so we would probably implement them after that happens.

YIKES.... that's corrected now. Certainly, I meant "beer or soda".

ATTENTION: The fanfest page is now up at: www.brewerfan.net/events/...anfest.jsp For the newer people, the only thing you pay for in advance are the Beloit tickets. There's a link to pay online via credit card. Contact me at webmaster@brewerfan.net if you wish to pay by other means. Please purchase your tickets as soon as possible. The money needs to be turned into the Snappers ticket office a couple of weeks before the event. Also, if you plan on attending the Brewers game, let me know, so I can add your name to the roster (along with the number of guests you wish to bring) Thanks!!

[ Just offering my 2 cents of bad advice ] No I think it's a great idea, and i'm planning on implementing it. I'll probably just create a topic for each article, and then link the topic to the article so it's easy to locate.

I don't want to leave the EZBoard editor for posting comments, because there's a ton of features it offers that I don't want to deprive users of. One thing I am working on as we speak is Java API for EZBoard, meaning, a way for brewerfan.net (the site) to read topics from EZBoard. So, maybe the title of the newest thread would be offered on the home page (one from each forum, or something like that). I suppose if people find registering a daunting task, I can remove the registration requirement from posting... although that could open the hole for much mayhem.

Thanks a ton for researching all that! I'll add the information to the team history pages when I get a chance.

[ "Not that anyone probably cares..." ] The point was that the problem that you saw had no bearing on the message boards.
  10. squarepusher
Not that anyone probably cares, but the bug that caused Hoffy's problem has been fixed.

Read on the login page: "Brewerfan.net maintains TWO sets of logins. One is used for most for brewerfan.net specific features, the other is used for the message boards and for the chat room. This is because the message boards and chat room are hosted by an external service." I'll post some additional text later tonight to make this clearer. And yes, you can create additional brewerfan.net (not message board) logins for yourself, but it really has no effect at this point.

Aren't you late for your appointment on the cross? Your resentment has been obvious since the day the exodus to Brewerfan happened. I appreciate your baseball related posts but it's obvious you can't start fresh and take the chip off your shoulder. You're always welcome here, but don't be surprised when you get met with sarcasm when you start with the knee-jerk reactions.

...Hoffy, one thing I did have problem with, is you fanning the flames over at the ESPN message boards about Brewerfan. Specifically, this: boards.espn.go.com/cgi/ml...nextThread and, this: boards.espn.go.com/cgi/ml...&id=134813

i'm not having a problem logging in.... sounds like EZBoard has a bug. I'll shoot them an email.
  15. squarepusher
    I couldn't create a "H0FFY" account.
  16. squarepusher
only if you order in the next 12 minutes.
  17. squarepusher
Yeah.... I need to follow up on fixing/completing that as well. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

$3 for the first one, and $2 for each additional one after that...
  19. squarepusher
I still have quite a few left.... how many would you want?
  20. squarepusher
That's a great idea.... I'd like to make printer friendly versions of all the pages while i'm at it.
  21. squarepusher
Looks like we've earned $6.00 from ebay for this quarter so far. $5.00 for a registration, and a dollar total for bids/listings.

I just got word that BrewersRadioNetwork.com is planning to add the old shows to the webpage, and will archive all future shows as well.
  23. squarepusher
Quite honestly, I don't even have enough free space on the server to host that many files of that size...
  24. squarepusher
That would definately infringe on some copyrights...

[ You mean if you got off your lazy bum and built us a message board like you promised us 3 years ago? ] Yeah, after I finish moving, training my new dog, working on my freelance stuff, and working overtime on my regular job, i'll have to get right on that http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif Besides.... I can't compete with EZBoard's functionality... Plus, all of the traffic the message board uses would probably bring brewerfan's main server to it's knees.
