  1. I heard 110 over 6. Is 120 over 6 new? I also love the out in 3 years.
  2. Would I trade Spann for Hardy straight up? No, but it might take that to pry him from the Twins. I like Kubel, but it would mean moving Hart to CF or trading him.
  3. Hardy to Minnesota would need to include..... Spann alone or Young and a pitcher If you think Kubel can play good enough Defense, I'd pursue him - But not for Hardy...most likely.
  4. I didn't realize the dealine was son close. I still think CC can be signed if Sheets returns. I just don't think it's likely that both would want to return.
  5. Peavy - I understand what you are saying about CC, but I don't see any way Sheets accept Arby that quickly if at all. Additionally, If that did happen, we could potentially deal Cameron or Prince or Hardy to make the needed salary adjustment for this season. What is the deadline to accept arby?
  6. Wood or Hoffman I would be happy with. Forget Fuentes and Krod. Wood and Hoffman would be upgrades over what we presently have or had last year.
  7. I'd decline Arby on Gane and then offer him a one year deal.
  8. Melvin should play coy until after the arby date is over. If Hoffman or Wood don't get offered arby, then I see Melvin going after one of them.
  9. With SF involved and LA possibly involved, I doubt that We have much of a shot any longer. If he goes to SF, Maybe we can get Cain for Prince or someone else.
  10. I want Melky and Hughes for Cameron if he is going there. We still need to address a LH 3b IMHO.
  11. I think that if CC won 20 games and or the Cy Young award he is worth the 6 years 140 (as much as anybody can be worth that much) I would match 6 years 140 mil. However I would structure it as 5 years 105 Mil guarenteed with another 10 mil in bonuses (2 mil for every year that he wins 20 games or a Cy Young) and a 6th year mutual option for 25 Mil. It probably can't be structured that way, but I would think in that scenario you can justify 6 years 140 mil. I just think CC would be happier in the NL....I guess we will see.
  12. Hoffman won't sign with anybody until afte the Padres decline Arby in early DEC...I think. I predict the first trade will be Cameron for Cabrera on Nov. 20th. I predict first signing is Sheets Dec. 1.
  13. If CC signs elsewhere, I'd be okay with signing Sheets and Garland. I think Cappy would be a great Reliever and insurance in the pen. He does really well for about 4 innings, then a hell breaks loose.
  14. My fears are silmilar to those being stated...If we don't sign CC, Sheets, or acquire a #1 or #2 starter, this team will be taking a step back. We could sign a Garland and or Brad Penny type, but as stated above they are likley Suppan type pitchers. Without a solid offseason, this team could drop off the map again. That is my ultimate fear.
  15. Great addition! Plenty of options in two years http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  16. Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Mark Kotsay in Oakland when Macha was there? Might he be a solid one or two year guy in teh OF if the Brewers trade Hart or Cameron? I know he has battled some injuries over the past couple of years, but he would seem to be a decent vet left handed hitter.
  17. How much better would Melky be than Gwynn? Defensively and offensively? If its a wash...then is it worth the move?
  18. I would not consider dealing him until CC makes a decison. I like the fact that DM is hoping for a counteroffer.
  19. Melky and Betimet don't improve our team enough to make the trade (IMHO) unless it allowed us to sign or trade for a different $ player. IMHO Cameron will not be dealt unless Sabathia signs elsewhere - they are buds - from what I have read. Now if we could invilve Suppan in the deal and get back an arm like Kennedy, then we might be on to something.
  20. Is Penny a FA or would he need to be traded for?
  21. If the Padres would be willing to take Hart, Weeks and an arm for Peavy, I'd do it. I just don't think I'd trade Parra to do it....but.....maybe I would. We need two left handed bats in this lineup. With the FA's available, we could sign someone to a 1 or two year Gagne type of deal.
  22. How does it compare to Santana's deal per year? If it is more on average, it is a good offer in this economy. He probably won't take it, but a decent start Seeing the post above, I'd do a 4 year $100 mil with a 5th year mutual option for another $25 mil.
  23. I'd go after CC first and Perez second. Not interested in Sheets unless it is a Gagne type of deal. Byrd does nothing for me. If neither signs, pursue a trade.
