  1. I wonder if his slider isn't as effective if it wouldn't be a good idea to try to throw a curveball more often, especially to righties. I spiked curveball to give hitters something else to see might offset some of the drop in velocity in other pitches. I'd love to see him with a better changeup (that being one of my favorite pitches). Wily just isn't as polished of a pitcher at this point. He has some interesting stuff, but he can't locate his fastball within the zone and he's also a bit of a headcase on the mound. He was a little better at not blowing up last year but I've seen it again this year.
  2. I don't like when a hitter swings at the first pitch if a pitcher is struggling with command and has just walked the previous hitter on four straight pitches.
  3. Segura.. seriously man, what are you doing? There could be about two or three more errors in this game by the Brewers.
  4. That's like a three hopper to 3B and the guy beats it out.. here comes the big hit that will blow the game open. This, friends, is how you lose 90+ games.
  5. Was Counsell getting after Gennett? How do you NOT turn 2 there? Bill is right (for the most part): "They just can't get it right today, can they?" This has been going on almost all season, with intermittent good play. Bad defense, bad fundamentals, etc etc.. and the beat goes on..
  6. At least Lucroy can't ground into a double play here. Oh, wait, he can.. let's see if he does it.
  7. Not that it really matters at this point, but why is Segura leading off?
  8. Geez talk about a wasted opportunity. Not sure if I am surprised, or why I would be if I was.
  9. I don't really care how many homeruns he will hit as long as he will work the count and get on base. We all complain about these hitters who swing for the fences but don't take borderline pitches and won't walk very often. Peterson has (almost) a 2K to 1 BB walk ratio - I'll take it (small sample size). He's going to hit a few homeruns, can we just have a few guys on the roster who just get on base? He's not a plus defender, but he's also playing out of position in CF. If he can play a corner spot and some 1B, I'm good with him. He needs more at-bats if he continues to get on base at the pace he does. There will be other home run hitters in the lineup - I would prefer to fill a few of the gaps with guys who can just get on base.

  11. Shocked that Davis struck out there. Blindly swinging at the first pitch that bounced before home plate sure was a nice way to start that one.
  12. I thought you were going to saw that this picture shows why Jean Segura isn't much of a hitter.
