  1. Segura really drove that one nicely. He's been hitting the ball hard for a while now; he had a great at bat in FLA where he got a sac fly and it seems like since then his confidence has gone up. Nothing really to back that up, just from what I've seen of him.
  2. Bah Rickie, just take the sure out at 1st. Come on Yo!
  3. He started Monday against a LHP and we still won. He's mainly in there for his defense. I'd say he's mainly in there because Corey is still a little gimpy.
  4. What? The Brewers were eliminated today? That can't be... something doesn't seem right here..
  5. I really don't see myself missing Shaun Marcum after this year. I'll be only mildly disappointed if the Brewers brought him in on a one-year deal, but I'd prefer they didn't.
  6. I'm happy to have the lead but no kidding. Two bases loaded/nobody out situations without any runs. Not. Good.
  7. I agree; I didn't understand that move. Well.. I guess I sort of did, but I would still let Bianchi hit there. I can see wanting to get a runner on 3rd with less than two out, but Bianchi is perfectly capable of hitting the ball in the gap or just getting a single through the infield which should have scored Gomez.
  8. I know this isn't a popular opinion around here, but I continue to be underwhelmed by Taylor Green. I know it's very difficult to get a rhythm going without regular at bats, but he seems like he's being dominated by MLB pitching.
  9. The Brewers are really having a hard time laying off Nolasco's sweeping slider.
  10. Was there no one else available in the pen once K-Rod started to struggle? The messed up part was that it looked like he had one of the hitters struck out (looking) to get the 2nd out. I believe that hitter then walked.. and scored the tying run.
  11. 'birds' is much easier to type than 'Orioles'.
  12. Is something stopping him from losing a few pounds now? Yes.. the season and playing/getting ready to play every day. I know that sounds silly, but it honestly makes sense to me and I'm sure it made sense to Ueck when he said it. This off season Maldy can completely change his diet and his workout routine and shed a few if that's what he thinks is necessary.
  13. It was raining for 5 min before the roof even started to close. So now I'm stuck here wet while watching Wolf suck. It's poetic, really.
  14. That loss last night just killed this team - or so it seems today. I know there's no way to prove that but those losses are gut wrenching and they've happened SO many times this year. Hard to stay on a high like they (hopefully) were after the CIN series after losing a game against the worst team in MLB like they did last night. Tonight's lackluster performance is hardly a surprise.
  15. I thought that 2-2 pitch to Gomez had plenty of the plate. Pretty close pitch to take there..
  16. Henderson looked good in the 9th.. did he pitch too many games in a row? If that's not the case, then there's no excuse for this. Stick with the hot hand. I know Ax will be here in the future... but come on. Can he have the 8th? Or other duties? MUST it be the 9th?
  17. Axford never lost the zip on his fastball.. K-Rod has been slowly losing it. He relies on his breaking ball way more than Axford does even though Ax does need his breaking ball to be thrown for a strike to really be effective (like almost any pitcher). Axford can make a mistake with his fastball and get away with it - K-Rod can't - that's really the main point.
  18. I get the bunt strategically, but I feel like it was just 'wrong', in the fan sense. Like if we were the Cardinals there'd be an investigation after the game to restore the integrity of the game! I dunno, just bugged me. Same here.. same here. It's over with. Bah humbug.
