  1. This is the first year that I've noticed this trend a lot (in a good 18 years of watching baseball coherently), and maybe because I've looked at it in a different light. But I always thought that your best reliever should pitch the 9th, your ultimate last line of defense. Now I feel that your best reliever should be used to kill any type of rally, or "momentum" (there's that danged M word again) that the other team is building. If you end that in say the 7th, or even 8th I would think that it would be really difficult to build that back up again in the 9th against another tough reliever.
  2. Neither, because like you said.... both teams got what they wanted. Though I have to admit I don't know much about Dan Haren's career numbers, so I don't know if the start he is having is a typical one for him. But I like the trade for both teams, both got what they wanted, I don't think you can declare a winner until later in the season.
  3. Awesome, good news. Now all I have to do is work on getting muscles, I already have the gut.
  4. So what was their answer Game? Was it the skinny dude with abs, or the strong guy with a bit of a gut. I have to know where I stand. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  5. Wow, the ump hasn't been calling that junk all game. This guy is freakin' awful.
  6. Wow, those ball 4 pitches to the last three hitters really have been close. It looks like there are going to be a lot of walks issued in this game since both of these pitchers pitch to contact....
  7. Where is this ump's zone? It sucks, a couple of those pitches from Soup were right there, and he just stared at them. Hello!
  8. Please be patient, Ryan. Take a few pitches and then destroy one.
  9. I guess I am excited for this game, but I'm not really expecting a lot out of this team right now. Who knows what will give them a kick in the pants to wake them up - I surely don't. But... I'm going to watch anyway, because well.. what else is there to do?
  10. I drove a 1990 Honda Prelude that was a 5 speed, and had 4 wheel steering, identical to this one only red. It was a blast to drive in the summer, not so much in the winter. Eventually we got 200,000 miles on that car until it met its demise in the flood in Madison in 2006. http://www.channel4.com/4car/media/classics/H/honda/03-large/honda-Prelude-91-si-ABS.jpg
  11. What a terrible game. So much for any momentum that could have been had with a solid win.
  12. That inning the Cardinals were practically trying to give the game to us and we didn't want to take it. Boo!
  13. God, c'mon! What was that crap! Jeeze is that ever frustrating.
  14. Great, now Gwynn. I can't wait to see what he does.
  15. Sweet double play. Any time the Brewers have a big play on defense, or a lead-off base runner I always think that this could be the inning or play that turns things around for this team. After that double play I had that same feeling, followed by a much clearer thought of "don't get your hopes up dummy."
  16. Some, there have been a few hard hit balls today. I wouldn't say that dribbler that Sheets just hit was a rocket, or the bloop that Kendall hit but there definitely has been some balls that were tagged, just right at a fielder. Woe is the Brewers.
  17. Yeah, and then maybe not get stranded! By the way BrewCrew, I like that Ned quote in your sig, haha.. Classic Yost.
  18. Sure glad that Ned can tell us that we have a young, powerful lineup. Why can't he just fricken acknowledge that this team is struggling big time.
  19. Congratulations to Sheets on becoming the Brewers' all time leader in Strikeouts, making Pujols look downright silly. Woo hoo!
  20. Bill Schroeder doing the color commentary today? Seems strange, but whatever. I was hoping to get away from ol Bill for a while but as long as the game is on I really don't care.
  21. Utilities apprentice, soon to be journeyman for the USAF. It wasn't the job I wanted when I signed up, but what the heck. At least it will give me some options in the future.
  22. I wish I could hear that Mass, I'm laughing right now after reading your post.
