  1. I remember flying back from NY on Midwest. We were delayed by bad weather for a few hours. While other airlines gave their stranded passengers a bag of peanuts or chips, Midwest brought in pizza for us. A lot of New Yorkers learned about Midwest that day.
  2. Tax Resolution Services commercials on the radio. If a bulldog could talk, that is what it would sound like.
  3. Every year my oldest, now 11, wants to go to TGIF's at Miller Park for his birthday. Once we got to the restaurant, he gazed longingly at the field for five minutes before even sitting down at our table. I had to wipe a tear from my eye after that. That's my boy!
  4. I've been unable to post until now to update my original intent. My comment was not intended to spark any political debate. It was intended to convey my dismay from years ago when the decision was made to prioritize the N/S 94 corridor over the zoo. For those who need to keep score at home, there's plenty of blame to go around. My hope is that this will kick things in to gear to prevent this from happening again without all the finger pointing. I guess I still believe in the Easter bunny http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Back on target. It's starting to look like taking Hwy 100 is worse than the actual freeway, but I'm going on small sample size. Maybe Moorland would be a better option for a straight north-south route. I've heard rumblings that this may be done far sooner than the Memorial Day target. Has anyone else heard anything on this?
  5. http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/89271577.html My first comment when I found out: "Just how important was that southbound 94 construction?" (fixed dead link --1992)
  6. Welcome to the boards cadillacjosh! Blue is the font color for sarcastic or joking posts, so no, it's not real.
  7. Splitter, My sympathies. I lost a good friend about five years ago of complications from pneumonia. He was 35 and had a heart of gold. Life just doesn't make sense at times like this.
  8. Ugh! Why is the 8-10" blue spot in SE WI directly over where I live? This post could easily be put in the "What's bugging you?" thread. Yes, I know we still get snow in March, April, and even May, but I[m more than willing to share that 8-10" with more of the state http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. You may want to check something like Michaels, or any other craft/fabric store. A quick look at their online store shows that they carry iron-on numbers. Maybe some of those would work.
  10. Fantastic, chris! It's great to hear things are looking up for you.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. My bad on who did the billboard. And Hawing is right, there have been some that have matched up with the "and proud of it" campaign. Couldn't they just say "I'm able to breath life into you. ." or something like that instead on this one?
  12. Hawing, that reminds me of the MATC(?) sign pointing west for eastbound I-94 traffic in Waukesha/Brookfield to see. The latest one reads: "I can breathe life into you. . . and proud of it" with "and proud of it" as their tag line for other displays. Gee, "I learned proper grammar at MATC. . . and proud of it."
  13. Just felt like posting this again - an oldie but a goodie. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff144/DatHoser/awesome.jpg
  14. Seeing a Brian Elliott save for the Sens on Sportcenter's Top Ten. Memories!
  15. Migod, what a myopic POV. This is MLB, not NYLB. Back on target. One thing the NFL does with their tv contract is require that all teams make at least one "off-time" appearance. While this wouldn't translate equally in MLB (or even NYLBhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif), there should be a way to have every team be showcased on a prime slot - and I'm not talking about KC finally getting on Sunday Night Baseball only to play NY or Bos. Also, the parity in the NFL owes a great deal to revenue sharing, again something that doesn't translate equally to MLB. The reason it doesn't is due to the disparaging views of each league. The NFL is viewed as the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The MLB view is that the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. Once that viewpoint is dismissed and the league as a whole is viewed as the business, then the buying of playoffs will become a thing of the past. Sadly, I don't think this will happen in my lifetime.
  16. The best thing about the Sharpie signing - seeing him in Hawing's avatar!
  17. A gift card an cloth diapers and you're set. Cloth diapers are awesome - and we've never used them as diapers. They've been impromptu burp rags, blankets, changing mats, pillows, and probably 20 other things I can't think of off-hand.
  18. Lots and lots of Stephen King. The latest sale at Half-Price has helped that.
  19. NORAD's Santa tracker It started in the 50's with a typo in a Sears ad and has bloomed due to the efforts of 1275+ folks recently. To everyone here at bf.net, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and all your families and friends!!
  20. The *ahem* stuff *ahem* is starting to come down here in Hartland. Oh let the fun begin http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  21. CNN article on Festivus. Read all about it. The grievance I have can only be posted on "the other side" of BF.net. It involves a rather self-important person at American's service desk last night.
  22. I waited overnight to hopefully cool down and didn't. So I came on here to post. . . pretty much what Alaska did in 1609 ('cept no LA relations). It's like cheering for Kenny Jay going up against Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.
  23. Wow Hawing - waaaaayyy cool!!
  24. Casey, when should I expect a box with air holes and a postmark from Novograd? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
