  1. Yes. Also, I wonder what Telly Hughes is up to this season. Sophia Minnaert took 'is jerrrrrrb!
  2. The sad reality is that getting out of this jam down by one run is a big success at this point.
  3. Your avatar alone tells me you're the right man for the job
  4. Good form, Roenicke, for having Badenhop hot & ready should this inning reach Tulowitzki... as it has. I was worried Mike Gonzalez was the new 7th Inning Guy™.
  5. He was excellent. I'm really glad he made it all the way back from his recent injury & made the 25-man. I love his stuff.
  6. The fans loudly reminding Torrealba that his back pocket is hanging inside out are amusing me
  7. Check him out on twitter @FrontRowAndy. He originally did it as a joke, but apparently Front Row Amy enjoys it. I'm glad he's back this season. His impersonation (beyond the costume) is really good.
  8. You are gonna do great. The hardest part is the grind. Hopefully we have numerous unofficial contributors throughout the year providing tidbits which lessens the overall burden on the official posters. With that said, thank you very much for sliding into my slot. I was feeling kind of crappy about not being able to help this year, but once I saw that you stepped up, I knew the L.R. would be just fine. I have always enjoyed your posts, minigoon. Woohoo! Minor league ball is back! Both of these points are true.
  9. Man, that's just the wurst. http://i.imgur.com/N2FEP.gif
  10. Welcome back YoungGeezy! Fwiw, I mentioned Giacalone earlier in the thread. I was a little surprised that he wasn't named to Wisconsin's roster.
  11. Fwiw, the temperature dropped suddenly & the Yanks were down 8-2 after a 3-run BoSox top of the 9th. I realize people hate the Yankees, but you can bet County Stadium would've emptied out in similar circumstances, too. Opening Day never draws too die-hard of a crowd.
  12. I'm willing to chalk that one up to it being Opening Day. I thought Axford pitched fine overall -- his FB wasn't working great, but he had command of the CB -- when his CB is working, he's able to be effective. Fowler just sat on a first-pitch FB & ambushed it. Figaro looked quite good. Really hoping he can put together some consistent performances. Obviously Badenhop & Henderson were good, too.
  13. Given this Mass Haas post, I wonder who will make way for Roache on Wisconsin's 25-man once he's healthy. Since Mangum will be the 14th pitcher, I'd have to guess one of those arms will be sent back to extended ST.
  14. Not to mention accruing valuable service time. For a marginal player like Davis I'm not too concerned about gaming the system. If he were Jackie Bradley or Aaron Hicks I would agree, but he is 25 and projects as a second division regular at best. The whole board has been up in arms about all the service time Gamel accrued sitting on the bench early on and now it looks like he'll never even get to six years. I'd imagine Mat and his family are especially thankful for those big league checks he got while burning his precious service time. Umm... I think you incorrectly assumed the tone of my post. I was agreeing with you, and adding that another positive for Khris is that he's tallying service days.
  15. Yes. He raced out from the top-of-TVp.o.v.-screen wing to challenge a 3-pt. attempt. He jumped, didn't block the shot, and landed on his right leg. I don't know if he put extra torque on his lower leg in an attempt to not go flying off the raised floor, or what happened. But his lower leg just literally snapped in half. Speculation I've read online from supposedly-qualified viewers (orthopedists, certified athletic trainers) ranges from "he must've had an existing, undiagnosed stress fracture" to "his bones could possibly have been weakened by an undiagnosed cancer." But everything I've read agrees that this was incredibly unusual/freak, and that it should be investigated much further (which I'm 100% certain is being done). Very unsettling.
  16. Those look great. Back to basics, keep it simple... however you want to decribe them, I really like 'em.
  17. Disclaimer: I don't mean for anything in this post to reflect in any way on razzzorsharp. For anyone who hasn't yet seen the injury, and is anywhere close to "on the fence" about whether or not he/she wants to view it... DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK. Otherwise, click away. NSFL warning has been given. It was a double compound fracture below the knee. And it was freakin' brutal. Worst injury I've ever personally seen in sports.
  18. Not to mention accruing valuable service time.
  19. Well he did hire a former MiLB teammate this offseason & had him throw pitches to him. Gómez didn't swing at anything there iirc, just watched pitches to work on his pitch recognition. Still, I'll believe it when I see it. But there's reason to believe he may have improved his pitch recognition beyond just ST randomness.
  20. Here's some fairly relevant background info on that Harper incident:
  21. I'll believe it when I see it in a more relevant sample. And I desperately want to see it.
  22. Coulter, McFarland, Arcia, Roache, Taylor, & Haniger in the field... with Lopez & Magnifico on the hill? That's some exciting talent. I'm going to go to as many games as I'm able this season. The earlier the better, because Haniger & Roache might not be here long.
  23. I didn't think so at first... but now...
  24. Ugh. Really sad to see that Marquette really wasn't able to give Syracuse a game. It would've at least been nice to go down fighting. That said, they're in a really good position heading into next season with a very strong class coming in. The only problem area will be depth in the post & whether or not they can find someone to pair with Gardner (Steve Taylor?).
