  1. Olympics Soccer This channel has made me so happy. Yesterday was awesome.
  2. Wow. His repeated use of the pronoun, "we" -- even after something like this -- really stuck out to me. Good luck, Stan. It sounds like you will be missed.
  3. Fwiw, Axford does throw a slider sometimes. Not very often, but he does mix it in here & there.
  4. But... someone told me Rodgers had just won the MVP.
  5. Yeah, wow. Your father & family are in my thoughts.
  6. I realize this probably isn't true, but I picture you watching the equestrian events, yelling at the TV trying to psych out the horses & riders into falling.
  7. At this rate, it's gotta be getting really close to zero reason. He's become far more deserving of the nickname "K-Rosene" than "Kerosene Bill" Castro was during his days here in our 'pen. Yeah, I agree. Even if he puts together two perfect innings today & tomorrow, his value's still gone. My use of "there's" was meant as "there was", like all the other past-tense I used in that post. I shouldn't have used a contraction there, sorry for the confusion.
  8. Honestly, I'd love to be a fly on the wall for this kind of firing. How does that even go? Everyone involved in that discussion has to understand how ridiculous it is. - Stan, you haven't been answering the phone before three rings. I told you last week you had your final warning...
  9. And Parra is the perfect example of what you mean when you talk about letting a young SP pitch until he fails in that role, then move him to the 'pen. And chad25, that sounds like it was a lot of work -- thanks for slogging through the games, interesting.
  10. There are only two problems with considering Gomez part of the Brewers' future plans 1) FA after 2013 2) Boras client
  11. Wow, now everything's fixed!
  12. Here's the note on Davis: • Brewers left fielder Khris Davis has been on an absolute tear since returning to Double-A Huntsville on July 9, batting .456/.537/.842 (26-for-57) in 17 games with six homers and four doubles. The 24-year-old offers big league bat speed from the right side and at least fringe-average power, so he might carve out a role even if it's as a part-time left fielder or first baseman.
  13. Adam McCalvy with a relevant blog post: "Brewers' bullpen is worst since '06"
  14. Nice, thanks for sharing that... I'm surprised the minions at BF.net hadn't yet posted that
  15. Good form in taking this game so TC07 didn't have to, Brad. Very cool. Yep thank you much. Shut up & get back to work!
  16. WOAH is this thread awesome already. However, I'm disappointed no one has mentioned Ben Hendrickson's dad.
  17. Good form in taking this game so TC07 didn't have to, Brad. Very cool.
  18. Yeah, gracias Abuelo Paco Pete and Padre Paco Pete! EDIT: Also, I might just have to refer to you as tacopete from now on.
  19. I'm guessing Chris Carter's 1.000+ OPS since getting called up a month ago means he safely has the 1B job. I guess they could DH Kottaras, but it looks like Jonny Gomes & Seth Smith have done pretty well in a platoon role as DH. I think 'Georgeous' will probably just be their backup catcher & maybe spell Suzuki against some RHPs. 'This talk' came from Marcum being out of commission since June 14th , and the most recent info I'd heard (was the RR comment you cited after today's game?) being that his most recent bullpen session hadn't gone well.
  20. Hmm... not a bad season for Schafer for sure, but it has definitely had to be a frustrating one in many ways so far.
  21. I have nothing to add but that my brain always superimposes a "t" over the first "p" in your username, and I read it as "tacopete" before reading it correctly... every time I see it. It makes me laugh, so I thank you for choosing a username that I consistently misread to my own amusement.
  22. That's from molly fan's lead post. It's not looking too unlikely at this point, and frankly that's probably a better rotation right now than Yo-Estrada-Wolf-Fiers-Rogers EDIT: Whoops! I missed that the first pitcher mentioned in molly fan's lead post was Marcum & not Yo... guess my brain just told me Yo was first there without actually confirming it!
  23. Why and who projects Gomez to hit for less power next year? Context-neutral statistical analysis. I appreciate the value of stats, and that they remind us not to get too excited one way or the other about things, but in a situation like this I don't put much value into what a projection will tell me Gomez will do in 2013.
  24. Exactly. FIRE EVERYONE THAT HAS FRUSTRATED ME WITHIN THE LAST 1-4 DAYS!
  25. No worries, Mass Haas... it's your MiLB Forum world, I just link-report in it!
