  1. 3-4 years at $36M-$48M for a 33-yo who hasn't OPS'd .800 since 2008 while playing in a hitter's dream park? No thanks. Spend less money on a guy like Barmes, don't panic, & have money left to float at Greinke. He's the guy you want for a big-money extension.
  2. Yeah, there's really nothing wrong with the Braves. They had injury problems & bad luck this season. Heyward is a franchise-anchoring type of talent.
  3. Those were dark times. I shuddered in remembrance.
  4. Yeah, the Brewers have Morgan under salary control (& likely cheap, given that he's a platoon guy) through 2015. I'd rather they kept him, since he's a useful bat v. RHP & good defender.
  5. I didn't like Beast Mode, it was annoyingly over-used. But it honestly didn't bother me much either.
  6. Play him. Let him fail. I'd rather see that approach & then trade for a one-year rental guy if Gamel flops & the team's in contention.
  7. Sickels' 2010 Top 20 for Milwaukee. We just need to keep things in perspective. I like the additions of Jungmann & Bradley, but it will be interesting to see how each fares in 2012.
  8. They were this season. If I needed one at-bat & could pick any hitter, though, it's still Pujols.
  9. I think Garcia is going to come out sharp, so I hope this is laser-beam Greinke & not misfire Greinke. The Brewers can win this next game. La Russa will seemingly go to his bullpen in the 3rd inning, so if they can make him sweat over Garcia, a lot of runs are out there. Maybe some relieves are tiring, or the hitters have seen enough of them that they can attack.
  10. He hardly deserved 2 ER. Maybe 1, but even that one was just a good swing on a good pitch.
  11. From what I've seen of Francona in-game, I like him.
  12. They finished 39-42 on the road, including being 4-5 at Busch. I know you're not confident, but what you said is not true. Uh, I disagree. Every other playoff team finished the regular season at least 5 games over .500 on the road; most were close to 10 games over. You disagree? Those numbers are fact. No one gets to disagree with facts. Have you checked each playoff team's regular season game results to see if they played as well on the road as the Brewers did in the second half? I'm assuming you'd lend more weight to the more recent play on the road than the first half of the season. I'm willing to bet the Brewers were about as good as any contender on the road in the second half.
  13. They finished 39-42 on the road, including being 4-5 at Busch. I know you're not confident, but what you said is not true.
  14. It just means you're clutch!
  15. "Just because you are a character doesn't mean you have character"
  16. Sorry, you're right. I should have just kept the focus on how stupid it was to play Kotsay in CF tonight.
  17. Heck, I think that if we were to actually turn it around & win the World Series, so many of you guys would still be convinced he's inept and that they'd've won the World Series in spite of him. I've said from basically the day he was hired that I thought it wasn't a good move. If they win the WS, it will be in spite of his terrible matchup and in-game decisions. The rest of this season has been. There's nothing controversial or debatable about that. I have no doubt that Roenicke is a smart guy who prepares & scouts well. It's what makes the idiotic moves all the more enraging.
  18. Kotsay shouldn't be in that situation to run down the ball Correct, only an idiotic decision would have put him in center field. you should trust in your 'ace' enough that a single run-down in centerfield isn't the difference in the game. But if it was two, then the manager might look really, really, really stupid.
  19. Anyone else feel like ripping that banner down, Office Space-style right now? I'm not sure if I hate Roenicke, or just hate how stupid he can be.
  20. RR is being out managed by TLR This seems like saying 'getting punched in the nuts doesn't hurt as much as not getting punched in the nuts.' I wish there were words to describe what I feel towards this joke of a manager right now.
  21. Roenicke'd... getting near to being Yosted
