  1. Psst, Skip is the Caray who died last year. It's Chip in the booth.Oof. Skip, Chip, Chipper, Digger.... use human names! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. So, after highlighting Inge's bad knee, Skip Caray describes him as "flying down the first base line". This guy is just pathetic.
  3. "And this is exactly what the Tigers want to see up -- Brandon Inge is 9-17 with the bases loaded this season" Skip Caray, unaware of what a sample of data actually is.
  4. Yeah, but the funny thing imo is that the zone was pretty darn good (save a call or two) until the 9th inning or so.
  5. Haha! I just tried to sneak in my edit! But at least I was paying enough attention to know Ordonez had been out of the game for an inning! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. And Randy Marsh's strike zone suddenly becomes a floating one. This game could be an ugly one the rest of the way.
  7. "This, to me, is the most important batter for Keppel to get, so he doesn't have to face Ordonez or Cabrera" Welcome to the game, Ron Darling. Ordonez was lifted for a defensive replacement (Clete Thomas) last inning.
  8. Great slide by Casilla to make it close... the ball looked to beat him by quite a bit.
  9. I'd bet the Tigers wish they had a 2Bman with range right about now...
  10. The called strike 3 against Polanco is one of the worst strike 3 calls I've ever seen. That's almost as bad as the slider low & outside that Hart got rung up on @ CHC last season ('08).
  11. I don't get pinch running for the guy (Santiago) that just beat out that sweet bunt single. You can just make a D sub for him later if you want Everett's glove at SS.
  12. Unsurprisingly, Nathan retires both batters he faces. Good call on not using him with the lead, Gardenhire. I swear no manager is more overrated this side of Joe Torre.
  13. Good thing the Twins arbitrarily saved Joe Nathan until the 9th inning. No way a lesser reliever could get the bottom of the Tigers' order out.
  14. Skip Caray is really one of my least favorite baseball announcers. He doesn't really approach Joe Buck, but no one does imo.
  15. Wow, huge solo shot from Magglio Ordonez... now tied at 4 with no outs in the top of the 8th.
  16. On one hand, I agree that adding Jeffress to the 40-man sends the wrong message. On the other hand, I'd hate to see his potential lost when there was something the Brewers could have done about it. First & foremost, though, I really hope people can keep this in perspective... it's marijuana. If he can't stop using it, this is not some life-altering addiction we're talking about. It would just be poor judgment on his part. It's not hard to stop abusing weed, especially (as MH points out) when you know your livelihood & career depend on it.
  17. Wow. A 2-R HR from Orlando freaking Cabrera. I absolutely hate the Twins.
  18. Kind of surprised there wasn't a thread on this. It's been a great game so far. Sits at 3-2 (DET leads) in the bottom of the 7th. On TBS. Porcello was good, Cabrera hit a big HR (& a 2B in the at-bat prior) to redeem himself somewhat. Twins got their first run on an error, and their second on a big HR from Kubel.
  19. Hmm. The latest I'd read on that was that Anthopoulos was only going to be the stop-gap between Ricciardi & the actual hire. Good for him, and I guess good for TOR?
  20. I've been wondering if we're going to hear Gord Ash's name come up in rumors for the TOR job.
  21. I think it's a bit harsh to say that Hart stunk. He dealt with some fluky injuries/ailments this season, and imo looked more patient at the plate.
  22. I think the scarcity of pitchers who produced like him over that many IP needs to factor in. Lots of ways to value pitching of course, but just about the only one in which Gallardo isn't very strong is walks.
  23. Minor arthroscopic surgery? I have a fear that this could uncover something more serious, given that he pitched with it ALL YEAR LONG. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
