  1. Amen to this. Even just the production quality of their TV spots this season has seemed really impressive to me.
  2. What complicates it is that Jimmy already has 27 days of service time. The Brewers likely need to wait until mid-July to be safe on the Super Two concern.
  3. Yea, he sounded like a punch drunk boxer. That was bizarre to watch. Bizarre is a great word for it. I've heard Gibson talk before as DBacks manager... I feel like I would've remembered if he sounds this way all the time. I mean, was the guy slamming Bud Lights between innings? Bizarre.
  4. That kind of neanderthal crap needs to be stamped out of the game.
  5. I took that bit as he kinda ran two sentences together, but I could be wrong... my initial reaction was how you interpreted it, & I was surprised so I rewound & watched again. Ehh, hard to say how he meant it. I took it as sarcasm the first time, but hit rewind and think he was still referring to Braun. Should have known RR doesn't have humor. If it had been sarcasm, that would've been awesome
  6. Smug smirk on Marshall's face the entire time. Somebody help this guy pat himself on the back.
  7. But, but, but.... He's a former player! He's tough and gritty....and stuff! These are the types of guys that make great managers......... right? Right????
  8. I took that bit as he kinda ran two sentences together, but I could be wrong... my initial reaction was how you interpreted it, & I was surprised so I rewound & watched again. Ehh, hard to say how he meant it.
  9. Wow, Roenicke has some fire in his eyes talking about the HBP stuff Hahaha-- Ron on the Luc slam: "probably the best at-bat I've ever seen -- after they smoke our guy, they bring in their closer, & the first pitch he sees, he hits a grand slam. There's no way an at-bat can get bigger than that."
  10. My gosh, Gibson sounds like he's had a brain injury. Slurring his words a bit & just in general sounding... off. Not surprisingly, he wrote it all off as 'it was just baseball' & 'I won't comment on that'
  11. It's pretty disappointing that the FSWI broadcast STILL hasn't shown a reaction shot of the DBacks' dugout after the Lucroy slam.
  12. "Well if a 'nerd' is being one of the best players in baseball, being a good family man, being a leader on your ballclub, & supporting local charities... I think everybody should be a nerd." Well said, Rock.
  13. I realize it's not that likely that Luc keeps up this pace all season long, but nearing the halfway mark here... this kind of offense from a catcher has to have him in any legitimate MVP discussion at this point.
  14. I think it was just avenging the injustice done by Lohse. What a bunch of knobs. Thanks for the win!
  15. Everything was done so well as an attack add... for me, especially the music
  16. In addition to all that you listed, the team as a whole were also simply awful in executing basic possession & passing. That was startling to me -- I don't remember them looking so sloppy in qualifiers. Ghana pressed, sure, but there were just waaaay too many giveaways & misplaced passes. I fully expect that to be back up to par in the next match. And on Bradley -- I'm not a big fan. I think he's pretty badly overrated by US fans. He's not bad, I just don't think he's particularly impressive.
  17. Great quality video. The HP ump is obscuring most of the view of Williams when righties are batting, but with lefties up you get a perfect look at his delivery.
  18. That remains to be seen, but there isn't another forward on the team that offers the physical hold-up play that Jozy does -- he's a classic center forward in that respect. I have to guess Klinsmann's attacking tactics will have to be adjusted to compensate.
  19. Bonafacio and Bloomquist both fit the mold of a Hairston. Bloomquist certainly lacks power as did Hairston but he's always been a tough out with the game on the line because he generally puts the bat on the ball and uses the entire field. There aren't .800 plus OPS guys out there who are bench players. Bonafacio and Bloomquist are solid bench players who won't hurt you if they have to start for stretches either. I realize there aren't .800 OPS hitters available for utility roles, but Bonifacio & Bloomquist aren't worth giving up anything of value for. If the Brewers get either one essentially free, then ok.
