  1. Looks good! Such refined artistic touch on that heart.
  2. May 26th (two appearances ago) v. BAL. He got the third out in the 7th & worked a scoreless 8th. Ah, there it is. I figured it probably wasn't as bad as my perception would lead me to believe. He had a rough May, & it's certainly understandable for fans to be frustrated with him right now... he hasn't looked nearly as strong as he did earlier in the season (meaning by the eyeball & not the boxscore).

  4. http://i.imgur.com/fHER3XP.jpg Well done, sir. I was thinking our current 3TO though. Got another heart in you? This is correctly sized for use on the forum. And if you have any specific image you'd rather I use, just share the link. http://i.imgur.com/KAzpQu4.jpg

  6. I didn't realize that Orlando's older brother was hitting cleanup these days for the Twins. Neat.
  7. Should be a good twinbill in Charlotte tonight with Lopez & Johnson. My Jorge Lopez fan-crush is in full bloom at this point.
  8. Biloxi Black Jacks has a really nice ring to it, imo And I really like how the club is using the "B" from the classic ball & glove logo atop their website currently.
  9. Crew looks to brush off stumble behind Lohse Cubs turn to Samardzija to maintain grip on Milwaukee's offense By Caitlin Swieca / MLB.com | 5/31/2014 8:48 PM ET The rubber match of this weekend's series between the Brewers and the Cubs will feature two pitchers who have consistently produced quality outings for their teams, though only one of them has the record to show it. Brewers starter Kyle Lohse has tossed nine quality starts in 11 tries this year, and that consistency has translated to a 2.92 ERA and 6-1 record. Chicago's Jeff Samardzija, on the other hand, earned his first win against San Francisco in his most recent start. Despite leading the Major Leagues with a 1.68 ERA and going nine for 11 in quality starts, Samardzija has a 1-4 record. Given the divergent records, it is not surprising that Lohse has received nearly twice as much run support as Samardzija, who ranks fifth to last in baseball with 2.55 runs behind him each game. Lohse, who has received an average of five runs from his offense, sympathized with Samardzija's tough luck. "I've gone through some spurts, maybe not throwing the ball quite as well as him, but I've gone through times in my career when I threw the ball well and didn't have the wins to show for it," Lohse said. "As a starting pitcher, the main thing you want to do is keep your team in the game and have a chance to win, and that's something he's doing." The Brewers' pitching staff hasn't had to worry much lately about getting offensive support. Prior to Saturday, Milwaukee had recorded 10 hits or more in nine straight games, averaging nearly six runs over that stretch. The Cubs have averaged 3.3 runs a game over their past eight games, dropping five of those. But the roles were reversed Saturday in Chicago's 8-0 win, and the Brewers know they face an uphill battle on Sunday, when they will look to take the series against the Cubs ace. "When you face Samardzija when he's on, he's going to be really tough," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "He's always been that way. Even when he first came up and I'd look at his ERA, I'd say it was misleading. When he's on, you're not going to score runs off him. Now he's got the ERA you would expect from a guy that throws the way he does." Cubs: Castro argues against planned off-day Anthony Rizzo got Friday off, and the plan was to give Starlin Castro a breather on Sunday in the series finale against the Brewers. But the shortstop went into Cubs manager Rick Renteria's office on Saturday to lobby to play. After Saturday's game, Renteria said he changed his mind, and Castro was scheduled to start Sunday. "He came into the dugout, and said, 'Hey, I'm good,'" Renteria said after Saturday's game, an 8-0 win over the Brewers. "We have to pick and choose our battles and when it's the right time. When both we as managers and coaches and players are on the same page and we both feel it, we'll find that time for him." Castro has started all 53 games at shortstop, and he has said he wants to play all 162, which he did in 2012. He played in 161 games in 2013. If Castro does change his mind, Darwin Barney would start at shortstop. Brewers: Still mulling over return date for Aramis The Brewers know that Aramis Ramirez will do a two-day rehab stint on Sunday and Monday with the Class A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. But Roenicke said they were not sure whether Ramirez would return on Tuesday, when the Brewers wrap up an eight-game homestand, or Wednesday, when the Brewers start a two-game set at Minnesota. "I think it depends on what he does on Monday," Roenicke said. "If it's a DH spot, he may be able to come back Tuesday if he wants to play, which I think he does. We've discussed both." If the Brewers wait until Wednesday, Roenicke will have the option to play Ramirez as a designated hitter against the Twins. Roenicke said Ramirez, who has been sidelined for three weeks with a left hamstring strain, was open to moving out of his usual cleanup spot in the lineup. Carlos Gomez has filled that role for the Brewers over the last eight games. Worth noting • Samardzija has struggled against Milwaukee over his career, going 2-5 with a 3.58 ERA in 21 career appearances, including seven starts. • By not recording a hit Saturday, Ryan Braun ended his hitting streak against the Cubs at 15 games, which had dated back to Aug. 22, 2012. • Milwaukee's Khris Davis is on a nine-game hitting streak, while Gomez saw his streak end at 10 on Saturday.

  11. This must be such an anxious & surreal time
  12. I didn't know what you looked like! Sorry! Iirc they announced that you'd stayed long out at the tailgate, & that was around the time we left so as to not miss the intros & first pitch.
  13. I fully agree. I have always been a Rickie fan, and was on his case the past 2 seasons, but watching him excel is awesome! It seems like it has been a very long time since I looked forward to him coming to the plate. I just noticed his home/road splits -- holy extreme, Batman! H: 1.038 OPS R: .419 OPS EDIT: And while I'm at it... OD-4.22: .314 OPS 4.23-now*: .995 OPS * "Now" being up to prior to today's game... Baseball-Reference of course doesn't yet have Rickie's player page updated with tonight's stats.
  14. I still love Rickie Weeks. I'm so happy he's been hitting so far this season.
  15. 'After Thorny had gotten loose, I wanted to get him some work. He hadn't pitched since Tuesday.'
  16. splitterpjf seems to know a LOT of people in baseball, & would probably be a good person to reach out to at some point (if he doesn't see this post & respond). Obviously TheCrew07 knows FV area coaching fairly well & it sounds like others who've replied here do as well. I'd guess 'networking' on this one, for lack of a better phrase, might be the best way to find the best fit for your boy once it comes time. Colbyjack might be another good person to PM... working for Perfect Game & being based in WI... I'm sure he'd know which programs to gravitate towards & which to avoid.
  17. This is, for me, the one & only determinant as to whether or not a 'contact play' worked. I HATE the 'contact play'. It's bad strategy. Trust a professional baseball player to use his instincts and judgment, & read the ball off the bat to determine whether or not he tries to score on a groundball in the infield. Imo the 'contact play' is the equivalent of telling a runner on 3B to attempt to tag up & score on any flyball, no matter how deep or shallow it is, and without considering if the OF throwing the ball has an arm like Khris Davis or like Carlos Gomez.
  18. Completely agree -- he's 30 & has a career MiLB OPS of .699. If any roster decisions are made based on his option-year status, I think Brewers fans should be expected to be upset.
  19. All Brewers Pitchers -- ignore anything based in real-world observation, assume worst case scenario... all hope is lost
  20. Well this is a nice change of pace! Shaping up to be another #WCWW?
  21. Nice but it's supposed to be thrown at Cruz...Davis has been a easy K machine this series for our pitching. Beggars can't be choosers! It was just funny & the first thought that popped in my head after Davis had to bail.
  22. Well his game log seems to make it look that way. but it's said how is he doing on inherited runners? 1ER in his last 8 appearances over 6 2/3 innings. 5 hits 1BB. He's had a total of 6 inherited runners all season, with 2 coming in to score. It's just that 4 of the inherited runners & both that were allowed to score were on May 22d & 23d.
