  1. So much for my prediction. Although it is Haudricourt.
  2. Yeah I thought of that after my post, but I don't know if I'd even risk it.
  3. There are some here, including at times, members of player families. I posted a direct quote from Chris Capuano once, attributed to a, "source close to Capuano", per his request, and I discussed Rickie Weeks' last Brewer contract negotiations with a name anyone who has followed the Brewers since the early 90s would recognize, sharing some of that here at the time. There's a lot of great information here on this site, which is why I've been here for 11 years now. We can talk about that another time, this thread is for the Lucroy trade, but trust me, you and I are not the only ones who read this board. Yeah, I should've said "another" insider. I know you and others have provided really good insider stuff before and I always appreciate it.
  4. If it's Mejia one of Zimmer/Frazier/McKenzie better be coming with him or I'll..........be really mad or something.
  5. I didn't think it was even remotely disrespectful to high heat. If he's right, and it appears he is, it would really cool to have an insider to some degree at least.
  6. Wouldn't take Puig for free.
  7. I'm looking forward to coming to this thread and seeing it locked. Cue the Good Will Hunting memes.
  8. I would be disappointed if Mejia is the headliner. Unless he's with McKenzie who would/should be the headliner imo. Not Mets disappointed, but still disappointed. I don't trust Mejia yet. He wasn't very good last year. I know he's very young, so maybe he's just finding his niche.
  9. Well, there's no middle ground with this post.
  10. As others have stated, I think it's going to be the Red Sox. They have the ammunition, the GM and the resources to extend. They make more sense than Cleveland to me and always have. I don't love the top of their system other than the obvious guys that I don't think they'll give up, but I think a deal headlined by Devers would be pretty great.
  11. Well at least they had enough sense to sit him today. Also, that Mets offer is horrendous and I don't believe for an instant that Stearns would accept it.
  12. He's a catcher who is concussion prone. That's the difference for me. Seems obvious.
  13. This is a strawman. Nobody has suggested we sit him the entire month of July. But we're talking three days before the deadline. If he gets hurt you miss out on a potentially franchise changing trade. There is zero reason to risk it right now. But if you insist on playing him why not play him at first base at least? Ok, then why was there >0% reason to risk him starting last week or the week before? We've all known Lucroy would be on the trading block since before the season started, literally nothing has changed. Because the teams interested in him weren't up against a deadline. If they want him they have to trade for him in the next 3 days. Keeping him from catching for 3 days isn't a big deal. Sitting him completely wouldn't be a big deal either, which is what I'd do.
  14. This is a strawman. Nobody has suggested we sit him the entire month of July. But we're talking three days before the deadline. If he gets hurt you miss out on a potentially franchise changing trade. There is zero reason to risk it right now. But if you insist on playing him why not play him at first base at least? Yep. There is zero logical reason for him to catch this weekend. None.
  15. I'd be slightly underwhelmed, but I love McKenzie, so I'd be good with it. I'd much rather just have Zimmer and McKenzie personally.
  16. I agree wholeheartedly. Gimme McKenzie and one of the outfielders and I'm good. Don't need anything else.
  17. Yeah, if it was 2 more years instead of 4, I'd do it for sure. We're gonna suck the next 2 years anyway. I'm hoping we'll be improving quite a bit by 2019 and that deal would hurt then.
  18. The answer is Ned Yost. For a variety of reasons. Career .237/.329/.566 and -3.7 WAR. And there was that 'managing' thing.
  19. This list shakes out pretty much exactly how I would've expected, at the top at least. Simmons, Porter and Lucroy on pace to be at the top. As was stated, Lucroy is by far the best catcher to ever wear a Brewer uniform, and if he continues his play here or elsewhere he could have the best career as well. It was great to have him and I'll miss him when he's gone.
  20. Yowza. That's a lot to give up. Can't wait to see how they screw this up. Because they will.
  21. I'd much rather get a second arm rather than a guy like Diaz. If we do end up with a second position prospect, I'd much prefer it to be Mejia. Why not a fan of Diaz? Seems like he could hit for a high average, provide good OBP% skills, and play above average defense. He hasen't shown too much power, but the rest of his game is pretty nice. Not to mention he sounds like he is pretty versatile with the ability to play everything, but SS. I would not mind him as a secondary piece. I like Diaz. Profiles like Cirillo to me. As a 3rd piece, heck yeah. I don't like Bradley personally, but a package of Zimmer/McKenzie/Diaz is a home run to me.
  22. I agree it's pretty shallow. It was an absolute laser beam though. And literally perfectly placed. Impressed the hell out of me.
