  1. A training protocol that doesn't eat away at muscle as fuel to drive that workout, kinda counterproductive. If you want to get stronger or build muscle, it's not going to take you too far. If you want something that will burn a lot of calories without having to do any homework on setting up your own routine, then it's fine.
  2. Hey man, if p90x is working for you and especially if you ENJOY doing it, more power to you. I'm just saying it's not optimal.
  3. A+ Call P90X a fad all you want, but it's a fad that works because the workouts are solid. When I started it approx. 3 years ago I could do about 8 good pullups. I can now easily do sets of 20-25 and have hit 30 at times. No offense at all, because I respect anyone who puts in an honest effort. But if I trained you for 3 years I can promise you that you'd be progressing more than that. I don't think highly of p90x, it's better marketing than it is training protocol. It only works because it gets a (generally) untrained person, to train CONSISTENTLY. Just because someone loses some weight or sees a slight strength increase, doesn't mean it's optimal training.
  4. fixed. On Base % Yuniesky Betancourt (Royals) 0.288Batting Average Yuniesky Betancourt (Royals) 0.288 ......what?
  5. So having a guy that gets out more than 70% of the time is a good thing because there will be guys on when he does it? Got it.
  6. I had Espinosa on my long post before I lost it, but I didn't add him to my list because I assumed he was starting at 2nd for Wash. I'd be all over one of Espinosa or Desmond, I didn't they would be realistic targets though.
  7. Crap, I had a long post and lost it before submitting it. Long story short, we need to trade for a guy blocked that is a better defender and gets on base more than 30% of the time. I found some guys but I'm sure most of them wouldn't happen for some reason or another, just some somewhat realistic names to consider: Jamey Carrol- LAD, 1 year remaining at 1.8. Macier Izturis- LAA, 2 years- 3.1, 3.8 Emilio Bonifacio- FLA, cheap- pre arby (not sure about his D at SS though) Jed Lowrie or Marco Scutaro- BOS
  8. This is just one big excuse. There's no explanation for a guy not trying to get the bat on the ball during a squeeze. That's what a squeeze is, get the bat on the ball at all costs. Even if you hit it foul.
  9. Why waste service time for a guy to pitch meaningless innings?
  10. Remind me why I should be worried about my #2 hitters bunting ability??
  11. I'd love to play but can't do weeknights, work until 9 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  12. Probably a sick 2 seamer, still crazy how much they can move though.
  13. My bad, I consider Villy as more of a lock than Vargas. Power in numbers when it comes to MLB pens though
  14. I'm on board with this. I'm hoping our 2nd pitcher is NOT Washburn or Davis. I wouldn't mind a Maine for Hart swap and then sign Mulder for insurance. I'd be curious as to what pitcher we could get for Hart if we add Salome? I have a feeling Correia is our 2nd guy, if that happens I'd prefer to let Bush go and still trade Hart for pitching. Gallardo, Wolf, Correia, Maine(?), Parra with Suppan in the pen and Narveson and Mulder as insurance would make me pretty happy.
  15. I like this as long as the dollar amount is reasonable. I think Hoffman, Hawkins, Coffey, Stetter, CV can be a really solid pen
  16. If anyone is refering to my posts then I'll clarify. I respect and appreciate coach's insight. I'd condede his baseball knowledge and experience far excedes mine. That said, I can still think his posts are biased(which is fine by me by that way!), is me thinking that really that terrible? The other topic about 60 times, I'd think even coach himself will admit that a guy shaving a whole second off his 60 time does not happen often. I still have a hard time belivieving an athlete(already in shape) can do that. Unless there are other factors, ie running the first time injured or out of shape. I hold firm in having a hard time believing a guy can run a 60 at full strength, in shape. And then under those same conditions and health turn around and run it a whole second faster without any other changing variables. I think some of you are not realizing how huge of a gap there is from a 7.25 to a 6.25. No one else has ran 60s? Your whole team usually doesn't vary by much more than a second. Fastest guys are mid 6(and thats blazing), average is 7 and mid 7 and up is getting slow. Again, is it that world turning that I have this stance? geez. Back on topic. Somewhat surprised by the Zaun signing. Changes gears a bit on this topic. I wouldn't mind Lucroy being eased in with Zaun. I'd have to think that means the end of Rivera, unless he starts the season as the backup to get Lucroy a month or two at AAA. I wonder what type of pitcher we could get for Hart if we package him with Salome? Lincecum probably if you ask coach. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif That was a joke hence the wink, no disrespect coach. The overly defensive people in this thread should lighten up. "Sickening" monkeyman? Overboard? Calm down man. /rant
  17. Sign me up for anything that gets Suppan to the pen.
  18. Played at the d3 college level, not sure how that's relevant.
  19. I find it kinda ridiculous that anyone that has read this thread can deny the bias oozing from just about every "coach" post. Insight is cool and all, but regarding Lucroy v. Salome, his "opinion" doesn't carry much weight with me either. The word atrocious was used guys. Has ANYONE other than "coach" used the word atrocious to describe ANYTHING about Lucroy? You can respect what the guy does as a coach and still not hold his opinion as gospel, that's not a crime. I have to admit, talking about taking a SECOND off a guys 60 time is tough for me to buy. Maybe an untrained person but for someone who's already an athlete? Do you guys know how drastic of a difference there is between a guy running a ~7.5 sixty to a ~6.5 sixty? That's going from below average to fast. I don't really care who is delivering that message, it's a hard one for me to buy.
  20. Big fan of Ersan's game. I think he compliments Bogut and Jennings nicely, a long 4 that can play D, rebound, and spread the floor a little bit
  21. What am I missing? What does Sizemore's ankle have to do with Counsell being pursued by the Tigers?
  22. I like McGehee but I'd love to see Melvin sell high for once. I want to keep Gamel's left handed bat and Heether and Gamel can man 3B just fine imo.
  23. Yup, I'd love to sign Olivo and trade one of Salome/Lucroy while the other starts in AAA
