  1. So our evidence of Kendall's value comes from praise from two stud pitchers? Come on, those guys would be lights out with Bill Schreoder catching. I'm so sick of watching Kendall play everyday. The day he hit his hr rock made an interesting comment, "looks like the off day helped Jason." Hmm, ya think? Dude's too old (and crappy) to be playing everyday, it's disgusting. And then to bat him leadoff? .... I swear to god if Escobar doesn't play at least 5 days a week I will go nuts. Why doesn't Melvin just straight up tell him, look he's playing 5 days a week, we didn't bring up our top prospect to sit on the bench. He's not here for matchups, he's here to play. If Macha doesn't do it he should be canned immediately. Between playing Kendall everyday, batting him leadoff, playing Hall so long, raping Gamel's confidence and development..if he screws with Escobar on top of it, I'll go nuts.
  2. His jaw was DISLOCATED.
  3. No, he wasn't embarassed. His jaw was dislocated from one of the first punched so it didn't take much for the last jab to knock him out. He fought most of that round with a disloacted jaw and couldn't hear out of one ear, he's a warrior for even still trying at that point and I don't blame him for leaving to get medical help. Anderson is just precise with his punches. Anderson and Machida train together and still claim they won't fight. It would be interesting though, both are so hard to hit. There really is no point for Anderson at 185 though, unless it's to fight GSP...
  4. Anyone watching? I know its not as hyped as 100, but I'm a Forrest fan so I'm looking forward to it. I'm taking Penn and Griffin for the main events
  5. No team is going to trade for Hardy and play him anywhere but SS, just like the Brewers arent going to play him anywhere but SS. Thinking a team will trade for him and move him to 3rd is a video game scenario.
  6. ok, seriously..I'm left handed, throw mid 80s and have a wicked circle change..Doug, I'll make a few starts for a slight raise from my current salary..
  7. If Escobar is up it means Hardy is gone(other than Sept.) and Escobar would be the best defensive ss on the team by far, regardless of who they bring in. There would be no point in Escobar ever playing an "easier" postion.
  8. I don't get it. There seems to be a double standard from Brewer fans. I think we all agree that we have the ammo to get Halladay. If we offered Parra, Lawrie, Escobar and Gamel- like mentioned earlier in this thread- they'd accept. So we agree that those prospects/players have enough value to get the best pitcher in the game. But then some of those same people that believe that also think this is our only "window" for a run so we need to make a big splash. It's okay to think that package can land Halladay but thinking of keeping that package and having them all for 6+ years is scoffed at? I don't get the "this is our window" angle and why people don't think we can have sustained success. It just seems like some are willing to force the issue and have a short sighted view of this. I do understand the urgency to win while Prince and Braun are here. But, if we have any chance of Prince being here beyond '11 we'd need a lot of cheap, young good players to fill out the rest of the roster. Guys like Escobar and Gamel are so important to us, we could be trading away 6 years of Jose Reyes and Chase Utley, no one player for 1.5 years is worth that. I know there's a keyword could in there, but I think Escobar's glove and Gamel's bat make them good bets to at LEAST be solid starters if not stars.
  9. Ironically, the only way we'll end up with "a bunch of misfits" is if we do exactly what you're advocating for.
  10. I turned it on just in time to see it. I got to work and someone told me what was going on, in the 7th. I got to a computer and went to mlb.com and they had a free live feed so I opened it up and started working, or trying to look like I was working. I forgot about the video for a minute then once I remembered I opened the video just in time for that AB, it happened on like the 2nd or 3rd pitch I saw.
  11. What? Do you mean any good defensive SS? Because if you mean any SS I'll disagree, Ryan Theriot does not have value for his defense.
  12. Hall has negtive value in any scenario, however if we take an even worse contract than the overall net might be enough for the other team, but the Hall aspect of the deal is always a negative for any team.
  13. From all accounts Escobar's range IS that much better than most, including Hardy. And he has a cannon of his own.
  14. I don't know, I guess if theres no chance we keep him, were out of it at the deadline and/or the offer is tremendous, I don't deal Prince until dealine 2011. This offseason the return would have to be tremendous. Not just good prospects, I'd need one or two blue chippers and I don't know what team would both have the ammo to entice me and be in the position to need one bat to put them over the top.
  15. I heard on the radio while I was working that he was depressed while in Pittsburgh, didnt want to return there and even had suicidal thoughts while he was there. That's pretty heavy, I'd take a flyer on him as a pitcher but you have to wonder if that is true that he's probably better served with some time away from baseball.
  16. No wonder they can't climb out of the cellar
  17. I'm starting to think we need to make signing Prince a priority, and not just give him some token offer then trade him. Everyone knew he had power, that's not going anywhere, but his approach at the plate for a guy with that power is really impressive and he's still just 25. I think we're watching a top 5 overall hitter in the making. If he continues to improve I could see it being Pujols, then Prince, then everyone else. He's that good to me.
  18. I'm sorry to nitpick but Counsell would play 2nd and McGehee would play 3rd. Beyond tht, I don't want to trade Gamel either. I'm starting to think Halladay will cost way more than I'd be willing to dish out.
  19. Prince handles lefties just fine so not being a switch hitter doesn't matter one bit.
  20. Wrong. He might win by submission, but NO ONE in the world can "dominate" Lesnar. He's too big, strong and athletic to be dominated. He's also a really skilled wrestler not just a big dude, as he continues to learn submission and bjj defense he's only going to get tougher. It might take a while for him to lose.
  21. I agree, I'm hesitant to trade two of Escobar, Gamel and Lawrie let alone all 3, add in Braddock and my decision just got really easy, move on. If Haren could be had for less I'd prefer that. endaround wrote: If the Brewers get Halladay they can't trade Parra. I agree, I'd rather not trade Parra right now because having him cheap and hoping he can get it together is more valuable to use then tossing him in a trade as a project, unless someone really values him.
  22. Give me a break, Fielder would be the best hitter on that team. Bay and Youkilis are the only guys in his OPS stratosphere and he's 5 years younger than both of them. His defense doesn't matter because he can DH, why would Bay DH when he's still adequate in the OF, why reduce his value? If DM ever made Fielder available I'd bet you my house Theo would be interested.
