  1. Much less than what Scooter would have added? How so? Franklin out-hit Scooter last year and can play almost anywhere. Versatile DOES matter for bench players. You have double-switches, etc. where it's nice to have a guy who can legitimately play a lot of positions. Doesn't need to be stellar defense, just Villar level defense. ; )
  2. Yea, Supak and Pennington add to my list. That's what's great about this site, we can keep our eye on ALL of them.
  3. Yeah they have guys versatile enough to stink at several positions. Franklin out-hit Scooter last year, and can play several positions Scooter can't. And you get your LH hitter off the bench. Yet you're still not happy. Color me shocked.
  4. Dustin Houle Mario Feliciano Jordan Yamamoto Wang Roache Wes Wilson Virtually all of the pitchers from the 2016 draft class. (Other than Barnes who you wouldn't call under the radar I guess) I just don't have a feel for any of those guys yet.
  5. Some dangerous miss-information there. Yes, it can be physically addictive. Yes, there can be withdrawal. Yes, there can be craving. Yes, it is a hallucinogen. Alcohol is not, it is a depressant. All of that is proven science. Lots of opinions on this subject, but lets not mix opinions with facts. A joint here and there is pretty broad, but again, studies prove regular use for youth and young adults can have long term effects. WILL??? No. Can? Yes. As you may have guessed by now, yes, I have some first-hand experience with this. (Well, 2nd hand.) My sister works in this field for years, and she tells me stories of how pot has become a real problem. In context, no, it's not killing people like heroin. But I completely dismiss that pot is no big deal.
  6. Not really an area like that unless you lived in downtown Appleton. But everything is very close by bike or car in any of those areas. Greenville is definitely more rural than the others. As I've said before, best thing you could do is spend a day driving around each area you're looking at , and you'll get a pretty good feel for it right away.
  7. Except that marijuana can be addictive. But I agree the theory you're talking about is stupid. Using pot, alcohol, or anything else that severely impairs driving is a problem, and whether something is legal or not won't have much of an effect on how many people do that. Also, it's simply not true that regular pot use does no harm. It's a hallucinogen for crying out loud, of course it effects the brain. And for young people under roughly 24, who's brain is still developing, even short term use can have long term effects. More studies are being done on this, but I believe eventually it will be clear having a few beers a week is nothing compared to stoking up every week. Or every day.
  8. Or a trade coming. Not a bad pick-up, (Franklin) has no options remaining FWIW. if the brewers attempt to outright blazek to the minor leagues and no team claims him, he will be forced to accept the minor league assignment. Blazek isn't on the 25, I think bork was pointing out what the corresponding move may be on the 25 man roster. When Franklin is added, someone has to go.
  9. Or a trade coming. Not a bad pick-up, he has no options remaining FWIW.
  10. I'm guessing they're referencing his diving attempt at that jam shot that he dropped that would've been a double play. Instead Rocks got their big inning. I can't really fault him for that, he did everything right but the ball popped out. Still only 2 games in, nothing to freak out about. Just seems the trend is continuing for him, hopefully a month from now he's settled in and there's no need to talk about it. That, and on opening day he dropped the ball transferring the ball to his throwing hand on what would have been an easy DP. That's the kind of stuff that should rarely happen, yet he's done it two games in a row. Just happens to be the first two games, which is why it stands out so much. And that has nothing to do with a new position, just lack of concentration....or he simply never will be a really good defensive player at any position.
  11. #1 That's why you should exclusively listen to Bob & Brian in the morning. #2 Trying not to get political, but I agree with you. I can tell you for a fact "kids" see pot as the same thing as having a beer. It's not. Especially with how strong this stuff is now. But society makes it sound like not only is it ok, it's actually good for you. Nevermind the short and long term effects on the brain, with even casual use by young adults. Even worse, since state by state they're making it legal these kids are shocked that they can get turned down for a job, or fired for positive THC drug test. Or get fines. I know a "kid" who got a citation at 18 yrs old, now that's on his record forever. I have no problem with medicinal pot. Although that's been way over-prescribed. But to make it legal, or otherwise perfectly acceptable is a big mistake.
  12. Agreed. Of all topics, I have about as much interest in Tyler's Cravy's opinion on anything as I do about what hat people wear. Which is to say none. None interest. As I said in some other thread about this, it doesn't upset me, it just makes Cravy look like a fool. I will welcome him back with open arms when he comes back if he get outs. This whole notion that somehow the Brewers promised that the pitchers with the lowest ERAs in ST will make the team is, well, silly.
  13. Reillymcshane could have had a triple double against the Bucks last night
  14. Hang in there, minor league affiliates just two days away.
  15. I'm not a violent person. I don't condone violence. Yet, if any of you happen to run into anyone wooing at a game, feel free to punch them in the neck. I won't think you're a bad person.
  16. Summary of every Cushon/Auggie segment: Craig: "For sure" Auggie: "Bawclub" Back to you BA
  17. Curious that in all this carnage, Jungmann hasnt pitched yet this series?
  18. Yea, have a feeling Ill get used to how games are managed when starter goes 3 or 4 innings.
  19. Wow early for double switch, what the 4th inning? So pitchers spot is 6 now, got it....thanks.
  20. Late to the party. Two catchers on base and Aguilar out of the game? Did they ph one rh for another?
  21. Aren't you a Brewers fan? Can't be the first time.
  22. Yea, but we're all just guessing. Who knows, he could be out longer than we think too.
  23. Which means it could be longer by the time he stretches out, a few minor league starts, etc. Honestly, at this point may as well bring up Lopez. He's not getting any younger, and they have a plan for Hader. I don't know if I can handle a few starts by Milone, then a few by Jungmann, etc. None of those guys will be a starter long term for the Brewers, so just bring up Lopez and find out this year if he can hang, or not.
  24. REALLY hoping to have a game where all three pitch, and they are the only three that pitch. That has a T-Rats promotion written all over it!
  25. 1. Lewis Brinson 2. Josh Hader 3. Lucas Erceg 4. Isan Diaz 5. Brandon Woodruff 6. Corey Ray 7. Trent Clark 8. Luis Ortiz 9. Mauricio Dubon 10. Phil Bickford 11. Marcos Diplan 12. Brett Phillips 13. Ryan Cordell 14. Taylor Williams 15. Monte Harrison 16. Gil Lara 17. Cody Ponce 18. Corbin Burnes 19. Demi Orimoyole 20. Jacob Nottingham 21. Freddy Peralta 22. Jorge Lopez 23. Josh Pennington 24. Wes Wilson 25. Dustin Houle 26. Trey Supak I left out the likes of Kirby, Coulter, Medeiros, Gatewood, Perrin, Stokes, Feliciano, Webb, McLanahan, etc.. Any one of those guys would have easily made the top 25 in years past. Wouldn't surprise me if Roache leads the Southern League in HRs, yet he won't make our top 50.
