  1. That's fine, wish we had the names though. Or even the parameters of what we're talking about here.
  2. I don't think that's fair. Yes, there will always be a handful of posters who don't want to rebuild, and nothing is a good enough return. Most would be thrilled with the deal you just suggested. It's fair to expect more than Brinson/Ortiz since Lucroy and JJ were expected to fetch a top 100 guy + another quality prospect EACH. But if the PTBNL is a solid prospect, I predict most of us will sign off on this, and many will be elated.
  3. Will feel a lot better if PTBNL is on wildcat's list. Instead of either a true lottery pick or meh Allemand type of guy. (Sorry Blake, no offense.)
  4. Mark Brouhard 4.0 is coming to town!
  5. Fielder and Gallo for Lucroy, Garza, and Braun
  6. If Mench is not a part of this deal, I will cry!!!
  7. There are other teams. It's just that not every team is like the Rangers and Mets and leak out every last thought on their minds. Look at the Smith deal with SF, we didn't hear a word about it until it was done. Does look like it will be Texas though.
  8. I just put a note on my door informing my staff that I'm unavailable until 3:00. Add me to the list. Conf Call with corporate at 2:30??? No thank you.
  9. Lucroy for Gallo, plus Brewers need to add a pitcher- that part makes no sense. That tells me the return package from TX is more than just Gallo.
  10. Ideally package Lucroy/Guerra and sell JJ and Thornburg separately.
  11. 2 things. 1. It's impossible to have too many pitching prospects. 2. Bickford is currently a 2 pitch guy and on the fence between starter and reliever. It's not like we just landed a pitcher the caliber of Jeff Hoffman at the 2015 deadline, he's a tweener with potential, he's more of a RH Josh Hader circa 2015 than a legit top of the rotation starter right now. That being said this is an excellent trade for a reliever. Guessing Giants are leaning towards thinking he's a reliever. Doesn't mean they're right, just why they were willing to part with him.
  12. No surprise. It's the Cubs or Red Sox for Lucroy. Texas (or anyone) could still be in market for Jeffress though.
  13. agent39 will get us a couple Top 100 prospects for JJ, and immediately enter the Brewerfan.net HOF.
  14. Yes, but he'll also be going from an extreme offense-repression park to an extreme offense-boosting park. I'd be very surprised if he puts up that kind of number in Milwaukee. Think you missed the 666 significance
  15. Thanks for the info. I would rather have him at 93-94 with late movement than pumping 97-98. That just screams future injury to me for a young SP.
  16. Susa with OPS of 666 last year in SF, for anyone looking for a downside or bad juju
  17. Thank you BF.net posters for crashing Bickford's page on Baseball Reference.
  18. Don't forget the Cubs or Red Sox. Never under-estimate a team that is going all in, and has unlimited money to make up for any prospects they give up.
  19. Nottingham could be a Top 10 player in all of MiLB as a catcher right now, and they still would have wanted Mejia. It's really not that hard to understand. They are trying to acquire the best possible talent- period. Do you think Stearns would be really bummed to learn he was stuck with two outstanding catching prospects? We can all debate and disagree about some of this stuff, but let's all agree on the answer to that at least.
  20. Time is now to deal Lucroy and the relievers for sure. Probably Guerra too, although you can't give him up for almost nothing. Then you may as well keep him. But Lucroy will have even less value this winter, and the relievers will have way less value. In my perfect world, they trade these guys today, even if it's a somewhat lesser return: Lucroy Two of Jeffress/Smith/Thornburg One of Torres/Knebel/anyone else in BP One of Guerra/Nelson I still think Sale (and to some extent Moore and other arms) is what's holding up the process. Whoever loses out on Sale will move on to a Lucroy/JJ/Guerra package. Or something close to that.
