  1. I would have liked to see 8 or 9 more bunt attempts, but I'll take the w.
  2. I would. Then again if it were up to me he wouldn't have started tonight. Or be within 500 miles of Milwaukee.
  3. Old Zamby wanted to meltdown but didn't, I'll give him that
  4. Izzy's play bothers me more. Not covering 2nd there's no excuse. Morgan was just playing the way RR wants. Aggressive. (i.e. taking unecessary chances.)
  5. I said I wouldn't be opposed to having Maysonet up. If, for example, Ramirez, Weeks, etc. were traded. I would DFA Itzturis yesterday and bring up Bianchi. But I wouldn't mind seeing more of Maysonet either if another IF is needed at some point. What I've seen so far, having him as the UT next year wouldn't be the worst thing. You would like to have a better bat off the bench, but I liked his approach at the plate. If he can play SS/2B/3B off the bench, hit .225- .230ish and his salary is almost nothing, it's an option for next year at least.
  6. I don't think Fiers performance is a waste. We need to fill some holes in the rotation for next year, and we desperately need to fill the 4 and 5 spots with guys like Fiers, Burgos, Estrada, Thorny, etc. That's with or without Greinke back. That's the only way the Brewers can compete. At the very least your 4-5 starters have to be minimum salary guys. No more paying Wolf and Suppan 8 figures to do that. It would also help a ton if they could have a couple home-grown minimum salary guys in the pen who could really get the job done. That would really make rebuilding this team much more manageable.
  7. I'm sure all the music is pre-programmed. So either you turn it off, or go with what you have. My guess is anything in betyween is a bigger ordeal. Whoever works the scoreboard, music, etc. may have had no idea what was going on, as they were focued on their job. I'm sure management was focused on the situation and not the music. If they had to do it over again, I'm sure they would have wanted someone to radio up to turn off the music.
  8. Nothing to lose by bringing him up to see if his bat and/or glove play at the MLB level. Having Izturis play does nothing to help this team this year, let alone next year. He's my 4th choice at SS right now. We should see Bianchi and Ransom at SS, Green should be getting way more playing time too. I wouldn't even be opposed to having Maysonet come back up again. They need to figure out which of these guys can hit at the MLB level, what positions they can play defensively, etc. You would think that would help them identify who could be the UT next year, who can play SS, or even who can play 2B or 3B if a trade is made. It won't give you all the answers, but playing Izturis gives you zero answers. (Other than the answer to the question "How can you make the SS position even worse than Yuni?")
  9. I don't blame the manager for that stuff. These guys are adult professional baseball players. They don't need to be taught/reminded how to look at the scoreboard or ask the ump a question. Apparently they do. This is the manager's #1 job function. Set a tone that your team will be fundamentally sound. Find a way to get through to your players. If it was just Morgan I could even give him that one. But it's not. Beyond not knowing how many balls you get in an AB, the bigger issue to me is just bad decisions, lack of execution, and bone-headed plays almost every night. If the manager isn't responsible for any of that, then I'm not sure why you need a manager.
  10. Don't forget the Bucks still have The Prince, yet another defensive forward with little offensive game. So you essentially have 6 guys at PF/C, 5 of which don't have much offense in their game. But here's the thng. I'm not a huge Hammand fan, but he's not that stupid is he? I have to believe the Bucks aren't done dealing. I will reserve my rage until we see the fianl product. Not that the final roster will be world beaters, but at least I'm hoping it makes sense,
  11. I just saw the Rush documentary "Beyond the Lighted Stage" on TV. So if I loved that, I'm sure i'll at least like "Rock of Ages"
  12. Henson is solid, he has some semblance of an offensive game already. He has post moves, a decent mid-range jumper, and can score by runnung the floor. Onthe other end, he can block shots. It will be nice to have a few guys who can block shots for the first time in a long time. He really is Sanders with a more advanced offensive game. With Sova and Leuer gone, he'll get plenty of minutes right awy, even with Skiles. Lamb is nice too. Made me realize how badly we needed a flat out shooter. Especially if Carlos isn't back. Reminds me of Meeks pick, but I think Lamb has a better all-around game. All in all, not earth-shaking but tw guys who can help. Can't expect much more than that where they picked.
  13. Oh, and there was also a guy sitting immediately in front of him two rows down wearing a Tigers' Fielder jersey. That couldn't be easy for him to look at all night!
  14. That's how I feel about Marco Estrada starts.
  15. How? They don't have anything in order to move up that high. Besides their current 14th pick, Mbah a Moute is probably the only other movable guy we have. That's not enough to get in the top 10. I have to say, I haven't been excited for a draft like this in a few years. Ellis and Jennings are tradeable.
  16. I didn't want to be "one of those guys." There were dudes crouching behind Counsell to get their picture taken with him. One guy wouldn't leave Melvin alone, telling him he needs to sign Greinke long-term. Just a lot of inappropriate stuff. Nice insight to the downside of fame, that's for sure. It was cool for RR and his wife to be there to see their son get 3 knocks in a game, especially since he didn't even know they would be there. Also, amusing to watch Melvin scarf down $1 hot dogs and coffee while Counsell sipped a bottle of water. I wonder which one is the athlete? ; )
  17. Probably nothing, but figured I would share. I was at the T Rats game last night, and sat right across the aisle to Melvin, Counsell, and for a while RR. They were casually watching the game, interacting some with fans, etc. Then Melvin got a call, and turned very serious, talked to Counsell about it afterwards. Who knows, could have just been a call about Helena losing 20-0, but I like to believe I witnessed a trade offer being phoned in. Better story anyhow.
  18. Doug Melvin and Craig Counsell were also there last night. We were sitting virtually right next to all three of them, until RR moved over a section to sit with his wife.
  19. Yea, that's the only thing that makes me nervous about my man crush on Royce White. If Seth Davis likes him, makes me wonder how far I've strayed from reality. Should be fun tonight, I'm sure the Bucks aren't done dealing.
  20. I don't think you're crazy. I just don't believe there's such a thing as a big reach once you get into the middle of the round. We are all programmed to believe that if 17 mock drafts have guys slotted in certain places, it's a big reach to take a guy not "projected" to go nearly that high. When in reality, there just isn't much separation at all. I love Royce White (and Festus Ezeli for that matter.) White would be that kind of guy who would help you in a lot of ways immediately. His floor is a solid contributor, but he also has an upside. I would much rather have him than a safe pick like Ross or Terrence Jones.
  21. I disagree 100%. Dalembert is a one year stop-gap, and wouldn't prevent the Bucks from selecting a Center in the draft. In fact, this is a tip of the hand that's exactly where they're going. If they brought ina Center with a few years left on a contract, it would be a different story. Udoh and Sanders are PF, not really a true Center, so that has no effect on picking a Center in the draft either.
