  1. How about we let the guy prove something in the minors before he gets to the majors. At this point he has had about a good month in AAA and a good year 3 years ago in AA. I know our MLB guys are kind of bad but we can just sit tight and wait and see if Greinke brings back a SS. As long as his defense is solid(no idea, FLD% is practically useless) he might be a good backup.
  2. I thought we had established long ago that the Brewers do not get much if any money from the parking. Where did you hear this? http://www.rodneyfort.com/SportsData/MLB/MLBIncomeExpense/WIBrewersAudit.pdf Well that is news to me. I don't remember that being brought up in previous income discussions. I was always under the impression that the Brewers didn't pull in much if any money from concessions or parking. I don't think they would dip into their own pockets but I agree with the rest. I don't see a good reason to shell out extra money just to see what a guy could do.
  3. Now we just need a walk on a close pitch for the blowup.
  4. Gomez batting leadoff yet again and against a RHP. Unless we hear about Aoki needing a day off DRP lives.
  5. I thought we had established long ago that the Brewers do not get much if any money from the parking.
  6. Yes, Izturis is a sunk cost and therefore they should not hesitate to dump him and bring up the young shortstop. and spend more money. Seems like a waste to me.
  7. Why throw good money after bad? Izturis is a sunk cost, Bianchi isn't the difference between missing and making the playoffs. Let him play in AAA.
  8. I would rather vote in a crappy player from the Cards who has a clause for a raise with an ASG appearance.
  9. No we only watched a big fat guy assault a teammate.
  10. I don't have a problem at all with how he handles the players off the field. I think he does a terrible job during games.
  11. Want to score more runs? How about Weeks towards the top of the order instead of Gomez. That is if we are dead set on Hart #5. Gomez towards the top of the order should have ended in Spring Training, last year.
  12. What I am saying is that young good pitching is very valuable and keeping Wolf for $8.5m in a year we are not going to compete is a small price to pay for and extra prime year of a young pitcher 6 years from now.
  13. Is this supposed to be in blue? Randy Wolf's ERA is going to be almost 6. In July. Currently he is a bad pitcher. And $8.5M is a lot more than a small price to pay. $8.5m is cheap for an extra year of service time on a pitcher.
  14. Wolf's option will get picked up. There are not 3 good starter in the minors who really deserve a spot in the rotation next year. $8.5m is a small price to pay for one year of service time for a pitcher. Sure Wolf has had some bad starts but he isn't a terrible pitcher.
  15. Unless he signs an extension in the $10-12mish range we probably don't want to sign him to an extension. There is no reason to keep Hart if we are not going to compete while he is here. The difference between Hart and his replacement isn't worth paying for unless we are in need of the difference in wins. Basically unless we are close to competing for the division we don't want him. The prospect we would get in return is probably much more valuable.
  16. The young pitching is better than we have had but not Gallardo level.
  17. If all those guys walk there is no reason to keep Hart around for the few extra wins he would provide over his replacement over the next few years.
  18. Maybe if the Brewers apologized St. Louis wouldn't have retaliated.
  19. Very late to chime in but the only change I would have made is Green over Gomez. Also, did they explain why Morgan in RF and Aoki in LF? Morgan's arm stinks. Nyjer needs to keep his mouth shut. I like him as a player. All the other stuff, go away. Never liked all the T-Plush crap and still don't.
  20. Ishikawa IS a waste of a roster spot, he never should have been signed to begin with, he is WW fodder for a reason... Which goes back to my original question which guy in AAA is a better infield option? Especially for a bat off the bench. The Brewers aren't blessed with a bunch of spare good hitters lying around, as I said Ishikawa has OPS'd .740 at the major league level, not seeing any other bench guys available in AAA that have done that and Ishikawa has done just as much as Green in the minors while actually producing at a ML level hard to claim Ishikawa is waste of a roster spot given the alternatives this team has. Especially going back to the beginning when some thought Brooks Conrad was some obvious choice that the team was stupid to not have on the roster out of camp. Then the team was stupid for using him and congratulated for dumping. The bench weakness was pretty obvious from day one. Ishikawa is a 1B only. At the start of the year he was a left handed 1B backing up a lefthanded starting 1B. That is why people(myself included) wanted Conrad instead. Conrad is not as bad as he played for us. That made Izturis our only backup at SS, 3B and 2B which is bad roster construction.
