  1. How about 5th? Because that's what's happening today. Then why the crap did he start Gomez to begin the season? Not sad to see Conrad go but not really excited to see Gomez back either. What in Morgan's past would indicate we should have expected much of a dropoff in production? As long as he stayed platooned I think we should have expected similar production to last year. A little less SLG but that's it.
  2. People wanted Barmes for his defense, not his bat.
  3. Ok, another CF. Great, just what we needed. I really hope DPR will bat him leadoff or in the #2 hole. He is such a fantastic hitter.
  4. Read anything on small ball or bunting and it will tell you it needs to be very situational and should generally be a surprise. With our manager it is way overdone. He is trying way to hard to force the offense to score runs. That I can agree with. I'd still rather have Roenicke's style over Macha's, assuming that Roenicke will slack off some on the squeeze play. If I know when it's coming I have to assume that the other team also knows. If he would sure, but I think over the last year plus he has shown he will not. He gives up outs way to much. He is a bad manager. Macha would have been fine for a wining team. DPR is a good manager for a losing team. Not a guy push a team to a few extra wins.
  5. That's a bold statement. Do you have anything to back it up or is it just your opinion? I'll stay with neither being much more or less productive. Roenicke's style has certainly hurt us at times but it has also won us some games that we would in all likelihood have lost with Macha at the helm. Read anything on small ball or bunting and it will tell you it needs to be very situational and should generally be a surprise. With our manager it is way overdone. He is trying way to hard to force the offense to score runs.
  6. One is definitely less effective, but more fun to watch, unless you like winning.
  7. The offense is bad right now and we still see the contact play killing innings. Quit. Giving. Up. Outs.
  8. The ump made 2 horrible calls. Other than that I thought he handled it well. Didn't escalate things and even looked like he calmed things down a bit after Lawrie thought he walked on the first miscalled strike. I don't think Lawrie intentionally hit the ump. Acted like a child yes but didn't intentionally hit the ump. Nobody was physically hurt, 4 games seems about right.
  9. Lucroy after 37 games this year: .337/.381/.510 Lucroy after 37 games last year: .324/.378/.459 How did that turn out?
  10. We played two 2B last year with a DH at 1B and LF.
  11. Why would Lucroy have spent 2 full seasons in AA?
  12. I can't believe we have Dillard warming up in a close game.
  13. I would have said that we can afford Greinke but if we pay him, who else can we afford.
  14. Let's not get crazy here. Lucroy is a good hitter for a catcher but he wouldn't be in the top 5 hitters on this team if Green is at 1B. Certainly not a guy you move around to make room for his bat in the lineup.
  15. I agree. We already have Weeks until 2014 or 2015.
  16. I wish the manager would just take a step back and let his offense play. He seems able to do that with his pitching.
  17. Wow that was a terrible idea. If that gets through you walk home. If it gets hit right at somebody it is tough to make it. I wish the manager would just let the guys play instead of always trying to force things.
  18. Nice to see Green out there again. If Roenicke can keep making moves like that and keep the bunting to a minimum(for a normal manager) I will support him a bit.
  19. I would expect Green to be Ishikawa at worst. I am not to worried about 1B and I would not want to trade for a long term guy unless the price was right. I am way way way more worried about SS. I think Green is a small step down from Gamel.
  20. Have to have people on base to hit into a DP so a good hitting team would have more chances to hit into DP and thus more likely to have more DP. I believe strikeouts generally go up as SLG does. I would think that a team that hits more linedrives would overall hit better because the BABIP on line drives is much higher than GB and would have to make more outs by K. I would think K's and OBP would somewhat go hand in hand. I doubt any of them correlate much though.
  21. I think that would have been the wrong choice. But you just said Hart isn't hitting either. I honestly wouldn't move either. Give Weeks a day off. I think Weeks should have had at least 2 days off by now anyway. I think he should be getting about a day off every other week.
  22. I think that you have to take the context into consideration for Green. He had a wrist injury in early 2009 which probably effected him into 2010. Similar to Weeks wrist injury.
  23. That is why you look at what Green has done in the minors.
