  1. I think that does alot more to discredit the validity of UZR & DRS than it does to somehow prop the Brewers defense up to where it could be thought of as "average"Not really. It is way to early to be using those stats for anything meaningful. Not sure how they work on a team scale but on an individual player scale you need something like 3 years worht of data and still have to regress halfway for a projection.
  2. The bench really does add almost nothing. I really don't care if Kotsay has been deemed acceptable to this point. There really is little reason to expect him to continue being acceptable.
  3. Don't forget Lucroy. Though again him hitting 8th has been some what of a waste. Forgot Lucroy. I am looking forward to Morgan getting more playing time as well. We don't really need any big changes. We just need players to play to their abilities and our manager to quit making so many stupid lineup decisions.
  4. SS or 3B is likely where we might get an upgrade. It seems like we can always find a 3B if needed. I still have the same expectations for McGehee and Betancourt I had going into the season. I see almost no way Fielder or Weeks are removed. In order I would guess Betancourt McGehee several other backup infielder moves nothing Fielder Weeks
  5. Not sure what people expect of Hart in his second week of Spring Training. That is where he is at right now. I don't know why we are hitting well but not scoring runs but if I had to guess it would have something to do with only Weeks, Fielder and Braun really hitting well. We are running into dumb outs on the bases. Kotsay has started way to much. Gomez hitting second for some odd reason. Just a bunch of little things that are adding up to nothing.
  6. Weeks has bad stretches throughout the season on defense. He is probably just in a bad streak right now. Hopefully.
  7. If it is in the fridge beer will keep pretty well except for hop flavor which starts to fade immediately. Hoppy beer should be drunk younger than other types if you want a strong hop flavor.
  8. I am not worried about one lineup spot. Even if it was over a whole season it wouldn't make much difference. Kotsay instead of Hart, Boggs or Gomez on the other hand.
  9. I let out a small sigh of relief when I saw this lineup. Just a small one. Now we have to get through a few games without any stupid base running mistakes. Gomez out should help.
  10. Well I am not sure about his salary but Braddock is going on the DL for Morgan. Probably happened while you were typing up this post.
  11. I don't even know what you can say at this point. Ever since the Greinke trade almost all the moves, injuries and decisions are just bizarre. 3 oblique strains, cracked rib from basketball, a bruise that takes 2 weeks to heal, and now a sleep disorder.
  12. I'm not. Kotsay was playing over Morgan when Morgan wasn't hurt. It could be argued Boggs should have played over Almonte or Kotsay and that didn't happen. Trip R hasn't made good lineup decisions all year to this point. We have only had a handful of times when the lineup was decent so far.
  13. My biggest concern is Gomez and Kotsay continuing to get playing time over Morgan and Hart and Gomez staying in the 2 hole. There have been somewhat plausible explanations to this point but at some point this has to change. First it was Hart will play and hit #2 as soon as he is back. Now it's well Hart isn't quite ready to play every day and not ready to face MLB pitching yet. When does it end and the right decisions get made?
  14. I'm glad he's finally dead, because that pretty much kills Al Qaida. I doubt it. You can't kill ideals. I believe Al-Queda has splintered over the years. We made Osama bin Laden into a martyr. I am sure this will make a lot of people feel good but overall I think it means very little.
  15. I thought Moosejaw was ok. I haven't' been there in a while but here are my thoughts at the time. I would rather go to The Great Dane, The Vintage or the Grumpy Troll. All really good brewpubs in the Madison area. Another vote for the mass produced Two Women not being as good as the R&D. Still a pretty good beer. Kind of fruity.
  16. I see this thread ending badly.
  17. Yeah the Mitre throw was really bad. My post was more in response to seeing Wallace pick one I think Fielder would have missed.
  18. I am not really trying to stick up for our infield because overall they are still pretty poor but if Fielder could scoop balls better it would make them all look better. Fielder also has no range so if Gamel can scoop balls not only will our defense at 1B improve, our defense at all the infield positions will improve. Really should lessen the impact when Fielder leaves. Not offensively of course.
  19. Just imagine how much better our infield defense would look if we had a 1B that could scoop balls.
  20. Wine really has reached a mass production scale at this point. Hopefully we will get the same thing for beer in the near future.
  21. Nice throw by Betancourt. He didn't have to go far to get it though.
  22. Not Kotsay would be great. When Hart was on the DL and rehabbing it was "when Hart gets back Kotsay won't play much." Now it's "well Hart probably isn't full strength yet." When will the madness end?
  23. Well so much for "when Hart gets back our lineups will improve."
