  1. I think I will skip most of 3rd street. I don't feel like dealing with crowded bars.
  2. Besides of course Granddad Bluff and Bodega Brewpub. Are there any decent brewpubs. As far as I know Bodega doesn't make their own. It has been a while since I made my way up to LaCrosse.
  3. Never had the chicken sandwich. I love the brat and pretzel burger. Made it at home once or twice.
  4. Is he gritty too? Don't care if a guy never strikes out or is pesky if he doesn't get results. Bottom line, Miles is a bad hitter.
  5. Maybe we are looking at 2 different Aaron Miles'. The one I am looking at looks like a worse SS than Betancourt. -18.1 UZR/150 and -7 DRS career at SS. Doesn't really look like much of a hitter either.
  6. Gamel can probably bring more to the Brewers than Kotsay at this point. Kotsay would have to hit better than .335/.414/.749(Gamel's MLB numbers so far which Gamel can better) to even be a consideration. RF and LF are locked up and baring injury both will probably start 155ish games. Gomez and Dickerson will give good production out of CF. That pretty much leaves only a handful of at bats for the 5th outfielder. If either corner guy gets hurt Gamel is likely to come up and start. Unless we are talking about a guy who can put up starter like numbers I don't think it even pays to consider another outfielder. Let's be honest, a guy who can start will not want to play for ther Brewers except maybe in CF because there is no playing time available. So in my opinion any looking into corner outfielders is rather pointless.
  7. I guess I am confused why we would continue to stockpile backup corner outfielders when we have a glaring hole at SS. Seriously, how many at bats is a backup corner outfielder going to get.
  8. I am surprised people still buy jerseys with player's names on them.
  9. Ramirez signed a pretty small contract but he had much of his last contract deferred.
  10. Of man I missed that line. I need to listen better.
  11. Suppan could have been an asset to the Brewers last season. He was instead put into the rotation as one of our best 5 starters.
  12. ERA can easily swing 0.25 on just one bad outing. A thin bullpen and being left in for a couple extra innings when you obviously should be pulled will do that. Happened to Wolf a couple times last year and Parra once or twice the year before.
  13. I think everybody would rather have Greinke and Marcum instead of Weeks. Unfortunately Greinke will likely cost a boatload of money. Think CC or Lee money as a starting point. That is not within our budget unless something pretty drastic happens with revenue sharing. Greinke, like Fielder, is not a realistic target right now. By comparison Weeks would only get half as much money even as the highest paid 2B.
  14. Marcum is with us through 2012 even if Weeks signs. Have you taken park factors into consideration when comparing those 2 lineups?
  15. Rold Gold cheddar tiny twists.
  16. I think re-signing Greinke and Marcum is much more important. Maybe, but how realistic is it that Greinke will resign especially if our offense takes a big hit which it is almost guaranteed to if both Weeks and Fielder leave. He only waived he no trade clause because he knew the offense would be good. Greinke has made it very clear that he prefers to play on a good team. I personally thing Fielder and Greinke are gone regardless.
  17. Maybe the difference is Weeks wants the money all guaranteed and the Brewers want most of it under games played incentives. If he plays he is more than worth it. If he only plays half a season he is worth the money Uggla got.
  18. At no point was there really any reason to send Weeks down. Was he supposed to take over for Braun in LF or Hart in RF? They brought in Durham one year and game him many starts instead of Weeks. Weeks worst season was 2008 and even with partial playing time he was an average MLB player including his defense. He has had injury problems but other than that he has been at the very least a solid MLB player at an up the middle position.
  19. According to McCalvy, the Brewers and Weeks have stopped talking multi-year and are now changing focus to a one year deal. Not really surprising. I would have been more surprised if they announced a multi-year deal. I think most teams opperate this way. Discuss a multi-year deal up until figures are exchanged, get a one year deal done then go back to working on a multi-year deal. It is a little surprisning how far apart they are on the arbitration numbers though.
  20. Greinke Narveson Gallardo Marcum Wolf Starts skipped on April 1st and 11th.
  21. $1.2m is still a big underpay if he pitches out of the bullpen like he did last year.
  22. The JS staff may have just improved. There is a rumor going around that Witrado left to join The Sporting News.
  23. If you replace onion with bacon I would agree.
