  1. The structure of baseball income is the real problem, not the salaries themselves. The income isn't centralized like it is for the other major sports. Milwaukee is the ghetto of MLB.
  2. It's so someone doing all shop classes isn't Validictorian
  3. Why should we throw good money after bad? We are not contending so why waste money on a guy like Lee. Cliff Lee would be a terrible idea.
  4. Christmas Story is the only right answer.
  5. WAR is a counting stat. Braun is the far superior hitter. Tulo is the more valuable player on a game to game basis if he can stay on the field.
  6. A less than 30 point split between BA and OBP makes him pretty unappealing to me. If we had to trade anything of value it would cost to much.
  7. Doesn't help when their horses get loose and cross the road or when going over a hill. Slow moving vehicles on a road are a hazard.
  8. Heard the same thing when Mark A. and the ownership group bought the Brewers. I hope Mark learned his lesson and lets the baseball people handle the baseball stuff.
  9. Nope, just Amish and their horses.
  10. Weights instead of winterball wouldprobably help.
  11. Of course they matter. They are just a poor indicator of how good an offense is. The Royals struck out the least of any team in MLB however they were in the lower half of the top 10 in runs.
  12. Probably because the percent of times it matters are pretty small unless the guy is a pinch hitter. Hooray we traded for a bench bat.
  13. It is tough to distribute as a craft brewer. Especially when you are starting out. Wisconsin law changed a few years back to make it even tougher.
  14. It looks slightly better than F%. It compares plays made to the average plays by a player at that position. Not very useful.
  15. I am not sure anyone really wants to get rid of players because of money. It's about concentrating our talent. We can't contend for a couple years so we trade everyone who will not be here to get younger talent that will be around when we can contend. The last few years our talent was spread out over all the levels of the organization. The MLB team was bad so it made a lot of sense to get younger and start building up a good bubble of talent in the minors. We have done that a little bit but I am not sure it is enough yet. Lind, Lucroy and K-Rod are probably our best trade assets and will more than likely not be around or will be old(in Lucroy's case) when we are good again.
  16. That is only true if you are applying the force at the same part of the lever. It would actually be easier to do push-ups at the same weight if you are taller because you have a longer lever with more of the weight at the fulcrum. The bat example changes where the force is applied without changing where the weight is. Edit: Of course center of mass may make a difference.
  17. Machete is the way to go. 1 just adds a lot of stuff that could be left out. Just buy all 6. 2 and 3 are definitely worth buying.
  18. It's naive to think GMs care about anything beyond winning.
  19. He's old and doesn't really have stuff. He gets by on smoke and mirrors. He and his HR rate have been up and down the past few years. He was pretty bad in Baltimore after we traded him in 2013. There are plenty of reasons he hasn't been traded. I doubt the domestic violence stuff is a big issue.
  20. Sounds like a Cardinal to me.
  21. I don't think that word means what you think it means.
  22. I honestly forgot it was an option. I always thought we would have him for 2016.
  23. Our biggest need is talent we can flip for younger talent.
  24. A good bullpen will do that for any manager. I saw Ned brought in his closer an inning early in one of the games. It was against the bottom of the order though.
  25. 3 years of control just barely gets us to the next time we are competitive. The one thing we 100% do not want to trade for is an OF. We already have enough.
